A fire pokemon, duh.

More seriously, I think it's a position in medieval nobility...

Well, knights don't have to be noble.  Knights aren't members of the peerage, and you don't have to be of noble blood to be a knight because it isn't hereditary.  One achieves knighthood through service, not birth.  Where you get families of knights, it tends to be that one knight ensures his son(s) get the training and equipment necessary to prove themselves and get knighted in turn by their liege...

To be honest, I prefer the sound of gemarn titles. Herzog is much more fun that Duc.

I don't think that the champion was a peasant.

He was a knight, noble born through and through.

Awww...now I have to edit.

During the Late Middle Ages, no, but during the High Middle Ages knights were, by default, minor nobility; even if they weren't born so, they became thus by virtue of the knighthood.

Ghazkull, while I might be wrong, I believe that trade routes can only be opened directly to the Capital.

Do we know [for landed nobles] of our land's natural resources, for establishing trade routes?

We have sheep and gems.

And i have to Agree with Ardas on the German Titles just in case somebody wonders:

King - Roi/Roy - König

Duke - Duc - Baron/Herzog

Count- Comte - Graf

Margrave - Marquis - Markgraf

Knight - ??? - Freiherr, Herr

On a side note i think in Germany the Markgraf is more important then the Graf, while in England it's the other way around...correct me if i am wrong here...

@ Azthor:  i wasn't sure about that either, but as none of the GM's complains i think its ok *shrugs*

It's

King = König

Duke = Herzog

Count = Graf

Margrave = Markgraf (Graf who protects the border. More important than a Graf)

Knight = Ritter

Freiherr and Baron are the title for Barons. They stand under the counts, but above the knights.
