Weird is DEFFINATELY pulling a leela, in regard to his infatuation with Mr Peepers. Including the violence.

[How about we check on the negotiations? On to you, Eric]

[I mentioned I was i need of sleep! And I told ya before that I don't mind if you've got something to do with my character that doesn't involve getting killed, because as a necromancer+mind-control specialist I'm fucked six ways to potato if I get killed...]

[Also, Wierd, it's almost certainly my empathy that the Goddess of Death took, because a failure to give a damn about anything on the personal level has occured. My morals were shoddy as it was, and if she took my morals I'd have gone on a rape+murder spree to make Thari look like a goddess. And the Noble God probably took my emotional stability or something.]

Eric and the recently re-wrapped mummy wandered up the spiral of ramps to reach the surface exit. According to all accounts of his undead sentries, the dragons hadn't moved an inch. The troops had all found a spot to sit or lie down and twiddle their thumbs, and the commander was still waiting for them. There was no obvious evidence of sappers, not even anyone digging fox holes. Just to be sure, he forced the undead parrot to squack another barely comprehensible "The negotiators are less than a minute away now, appologies for the wait," and fly off to scout out the area. Nothing yet, but the army was vast and had almost spread out in a manner suggested they believed they were going to be camping here.

Gizogin made his way back down to the bunker.  He'd over-eaten, and was feeling pretty sleepy.  As soon as he found an unoccupied bed, he was going to take a nap.

[Nobody ever stocked the bunker. It's currently a big empty room, besides the load of dwarves. :P]

Welcome to the thread! Make sure to read through the entire thing first. Don't worry, it won't take long and is very entertaining!

I can believe the very entertaining part, not taking long I doubt for some reason :P

There are a lot of short posts and double posts. It really isn't as long as it seems. True, there are some walls of text, but they are far between.

[Not sure where to take the conversation from here, as he should be present for giving himself up.]

"Well, if push comes to shove, we may have to rely on Peepers. That is, if we can buy enough time for him to grow up. Hey Wierd, he's eyeing me funny."

"That's besides the point," said Zanzetkuken. "If you've lost your sense of right and wrong, that means that you REALLY shouldn't be using this kind of power."

[How about we check on the negotiations? On to you, Eric]

Probably what I would say, Hugo.

That is what it looks like.  The general would have commanded them to form a tight cluster, and have the kobolds start digging, then have it widened by ever increasing creatures.

[Wait, what? No farms? That makes things a little more urgent.]

Undoubtedly.

That is what it looks like.  The general would have commanded them to form a tight cluster, and have the kobolds start digging, then have it widened by ever increasing creatures.

[I did mention they were pretty spread out at the moment, sitting on their bums or kicking rocks. If there was activity like that, it'd be the first thing I'd investigate, because it would be the only thing worth mentioning, so perhaps they haven't even begun yet. That would also be a highly conspicuous way to begin secretly tunneling into a fortress in this situation where they believe we assume they're done. It would alert the inhabitants, forcing them to race the superior dwarven miners and engineers that would be countering them with all manner of craziness. (I don't think that would be a very good strategy for sieging a dwarven fortress anyway. You'd want to launch rockets at the gates or use explosives to quickly mine through before Urist McLegendaryMiner shows up and redirects you to a magma pipe.) If they were going to begin sapping, they'd probably find a pond or something, fill up one of their water supply wagons (They DO have some sort of supply chain, right? It's a VERY bad strategy to launch an army you can't support, and many conflicts have been lost because morons didn't think about that.) to drain the pond, then begin sapping from the bottom of the pond, out of sight, which wouldn't immediately draw anyone's attention. Considering they don't have their supply wagons immediately next to them (because having a wagon full of water leading a charge wouldn't make much sense), they'd have to wait a little while for one to be brought up or pretend they're all really fucking thirsty all of a sudden.

You really should go into detail before we post, so we don't always have to go back and edit and change up whatever we wrote.]

[Hospital this time.]

Gizogin was annoyed.  This siege couldn't have come at a worse time.  He could work on his new machine, but until the siege was broken, he couldn't do anything with it.  All of the patients were fine, and the Mks. VI-VIII were monitoring them anyway.  He was stuck here with nothing to do, and no way to contact the outside world.

"Why do you think I was seriously considering asking Eric for that sort of overriding compulsion?" Weird asked cooly. "I am smart enough to know that the best way to prevent dangerous knowledge from causing serious trouble is to limit the supply. The fewer people that can do.....those....sorts of things, the better."

He suddenly looked dour.

"However, my own ability to contain my own actions has been....seriously compromised. It really did take all my willpower to NOT do something unspeakable to that little.....I mean... corai."

He sighed.

"I know that at one point, I would have had no trouble dealing with this. But now? I admit that I need some form of outside intervention. If Eric wasn't so damned obcessive about playing puppet master, I'd have gone to him for help already, while I'm still moral enough to willingly capitulate to having hooks put in my psyche, but now? Do I really trust that crazy fuck to NOT send me to work, clearing a magma chute with a trowel and a wooden bucket if I asked to be mind controlled? After Roead and I prevented him from doing any further experiments on living souls, and putting him in a terrible temper? I would have to be more than just foolish to do that. I would have to be ragingly, stupidly insane.  So, unless you can do something to help me not turn into a raging sociopath, any further than I apparently already am, there's not a single thing I can do about it."

He shook his head tiredly.

"I'm trying my best to keep people FROM getting horribly slaughtered, even WITH a damaged moral center. If there was some way that I could just put the evil in a box and flush it down the crapper with the rest of my shit, rest assured, I'd jump on it. I........hate..... having impulses like these."

Zanzetkuken thought over what Wierd just said, and a thought came to him.  He mulled it over for a few seconds and then spoke it aloud, "What if the link Hugo has with me was transferred to you.  I could give myself up to end the siege, and Hugo could act as a voice of reason for you.  Hugo would benefit from having someone closer to home being linked to him."

[Way I see it, as long as the invaders get what they came for, they'll leave the fort alone. Coming from a corrupt pan-dimensional citadel probably means they look down their noses at rubes like us. They couldn't care less about what happens to this fort, and if they get who they came for they won't waste resources on us. About the supply lines; presumably they bring in more through portals, or are confident enough that they could wipe us out quickly that they didn't bring any.]

They would bring them through portals, but I have something, unique that I have now decided to do with these.

I'll give you a hint, don't post what you think will happen: Dragon-plane -> Phyrexian
