This entire thing seems incredibly petty and something that EA would do.
Meh, I sent them a PM explaining our situation (I REALLY don't want to be locked in to one or two characters for two years before the game starts) and apologizing. So, hopefully it'll work out.

Exactly what I was thinking. Especially when coming up with and typing out those rules and FAQ appears to have taken all of 20 minutes. Seriously, just build your own ruleset. We're more than willing to help, and it will probably end up being more interesting to us anyways.

Is it still going? If so, the fourm link you gave us is still the right place? If so, here's yet another place that I'm going to go for some fun.

I already have a character archetype set up, BTW. I hope he dosen't die -too- quickly.

I'd suggest renaming this topic to Bay12 Battle Royale Roleplay or something of the sort -- it might just be me, but whenever I try to find this thread I end up skimming over it with the current title; it's a bit too generic.

Well, damn, I just finished it. I'll send it to you anyways, you might find something. Though I mainly repeated "RP it, and try to stay realistic" for everything. Though I did like my idea for the periodic death thing; it was sort of bastardish.

Every 7 realtime days, one area of the map (e.g. Town, Mountain, etc.) will become the forbidden zone. After 7 realtime days (after the initial announcement), the forbidden zone will become safe again, and a new area of the map will be randomly selected as the new forbidden zone.

If a character does not vacate a forbidden zone within 1 realtime day of the announcement, their collar will detonate and they will die. For this reason, we recommend that you post an inactivity notice in the appropriate area (TBA) if you will not be able to get online to move your character(s) during a forbidden zone switch. If you do so, your characters will be mod-moved out of the zone. If you leave no notice, your character(s) within the zone will die normally.

Additionally, if no player deaths occur for an entire 2 week realtime period, forbidden zones will no longer revert to safety until at least one player has died. If no players have died when the last area becomes a forbidden zone, and none die before the 1 day time limit, every character still on the island will die.

Note: If you are unable to post an inactivity notice due to an emergency or uncontrollable circumstances (hospitalization, power outage, fire, death in the family, etc.), inform a mod of this and your character(s) will be rezzed. Do NOT abuse this; if we discover that a player has done so, all of their characters in the current game will be modkilled as messily as possible

I'd recommend one edit: the whole inactivity notice thing? "That's if you don't know about the situation IRL until a day or so beforehand, not so you can be lazy."  :P

Also, a lot of the 1 week stuff will probably be changed. SoTF's games only last 3 IG days and yet take a year or more to finish.
