Up to Turn 400, there's nothing special happening. We sent non-aggression proposals to both Klingons and Cardassians. They've seen how we decimated Romulans so hopefully they will be willing to listen to us.

They both refuse, but Cardassians shown indication that our offer was simply not good enough, not because they hate us that much. Klingons' refusal was more of the lines 'no, fuck you', so Cpt.Ivan 9th, with his fleet has been sent to show our superiority to the hairy brutes.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

But honestly what's with all those planetary shifts lately.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

En route to that unexplored system, USS Sybil has deteced a small build-up of ships at the border. Our Constellations were ordered to intercept.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

They moved the Battleship there in that short period between Sybil's pass and Constellations' arrival. Our destroyers retreated safely but for now none of our fleets - except Ivan's, who is busy with Klingons - are able to reach that system. As we will be making a colony soon at Kataan and Altec, Admiral Nix and his fleet were ordered to secure the region.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Another of Ivan's visits at Exo system - another Klingon convoy destroyed. Do they never learn...?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

First of last six scientific breakthroughs.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Ivan's fleet managed to ambush and destroy small Klingon starship group, consisting of a scout, two destroyers and K'tinga cruiser.

USS Sybil completes his almost suicidal mission of chartering Ferenginar system. He was ordered to Andor. We know our enemies better now.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Ohhh, that's some military force! Whilst still far inferior to Admiral's fleet, it is a potential threat for Federation. And everyone knows what to do with potential threats. As soon as Starbase at Kataan system is complete, Admiral will attack the system. It might be interesting fight!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Another space tree approaching. As soon as it will be in range of Cpt.Euchre's fleet, it shal be intercepted and destroyed.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As you can see, Kataan was colonized ahead of schedule. I'm actually slightly worried about the forces amassing in Alpha Cygnus, so the colony will deviate from standard construction plans to afford buying a scanner. As soon as teh Starbase is completed, Admiral Nix will be sent to the system to investigate and destroy the Cardassian forces.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Second and third of last six breakthroughs.
Admiral's fleet ventured to Alpha Cygnus and... found a single Cardassian colony ship. No trace of any cruisers, battleship or transports. The enemy fleet went away during settlement of Kataan, it seems. Admiral has been ordered to go to Altec and oversee the construction of colony there.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Another Crystal Entity destroyed, albeit during the fight, Cpt.Euchre Jack lost one of his ships, Galaxy-X cruiser, USS Memphis A, his previous flagship.
As you can see, fourth Level 10 breakthrough in sciences allowed us to modernize Sovereign-class dreadnoughts.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Few more turns and skirmishes later, we get last two upgrades. Defiant Heavy Escorts are beasts. Powerful, super fast starships.
In an effort to cut Cardassians from several systems on their 'right', Cpt.Euchre Jack sent USS Glasgow with colonization group to Ledonia system, to establish a base here.
And, to reach Ferenginar, Cpt.Hostergaard will depart with construction ships to construct a deep space base, which will allow our ships to reach Ferengi space either via Benzar or Andor systems.

As a bonus of this lengthy update, have a galaxy map for yourselves :3

36.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As you can see, even some Ferengi are on our side. Whilst valuable, their research logs won't really help us as we already achieved everything possible.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Damnation. It seems that Cardassians knew of our intents about Ledonia system. USS Glasgow has been ordered to return to Cpt.Euchre's fleet, while the colonization group has been redirected to one of empty systems in our space.

What follows is 8 turns of boredom.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

At Turn 435 our Constellations intercept pair of Klingon destroyers that were entering our space. That's all.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

One of four that were scheduled to be created. At Emila, Ennan, Galen and Korris systems.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

With the construction of the deep space starbase, Cpt.Hostergaard Jr. has been ordered to visit Fereginar, defeat Ferengi fleet and send some quantum gifts to our large-eared friends.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

First, he meets a supply convoy.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

At Ferenginar, few destroyers, a war cruiser, and more supply ships.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Then, he began the bombardment, but the amount of orbital platforms was a bit too much, and USS Iroquis B has been lost during the battle. Starfleet Command therefore decided to promote Captain Hostergaard Jr. to the rank of Admiral, bringing him to equality with Admiral Nix.

In my eyes, a well earned promotion. His father would be surely proud.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Ferenginar is no more at Turn 461. Admirals Nix and Hostergaard Jr. has been ordered to pulverize remaining three Ferengi worlds, and then they will be re-colonized by us.

Our path to victory, superiority and ultimately, peace, is clear, and it's finish, coming at us in great leaps.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As you can see, however, Ferengi decided to inflict as much damage as they can with their ships. We lost USS Wichita A, USS Isis B, and USS Cervera A, the previous flagship of Admiral Hostergaard Jr. and one of the last starships that have seen the Second Battle with Borg. As far as rumors go, even Klingons are impressed.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

At Beltane, Admiral Nix reported casualties as well. USS Monroe A, USS Fury A, and, sadly, USS Iroquis A have been lost during the initial bombardment.
These losses, as well as bombardments overall, caused the citizenry to formulate their protests across few systems. Nothing of major, internal conflict seems to appear, but this doesn't bode well for our close future. We will see how it goes.

In the meanwhile, Utopia Planitia has been queued with production of fourth Sovereign-class vessels to compensate the losses of our Admirals' fleets.

At Turn 474, our batch of new Sovereign-class Dreadnoughts is complete. USS Roosevelt and USS Essex shall join Admiral Hostergaard Jr., while USS Marshall and USS Colossus were ordered to join Admiral Nix.

At Turn 484, Beltane is clear of Ferengi. However, people of Chalna are loudly speaking of injustice and terrible crimes we have done. Several other planetary systems are disgruntled with our methods. Admiral Hostergaard has been ordered to cease bombardment of Ceti Alpha for now. In the meanwhile, Cpt.Euchre Jack has been ordered to investigate our intelligence reports about three battleships in orbit of Cardassia.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

They returned fire! For first time ever, if I recall correctly! USS Glasgow received minor damage after it's shields collapsed, but ultimately, two Battleships and a cruiser accompanying them were destroyed. Intelligence reports that there are several other ships in the sector, third Battleship included. For now, Cpt.Euchre Jack has been ordered to return to the Trill system.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Welp. Have a random shift of Mercury for end of this update.
I think that next update will propably be the finish of this LP. We have 40 or so colonies, and after we re-colonize Ferengi worlds, it will push us over needed 75%.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Srsly. Another planetary shift. In the same day, Ferenginar is re-colonized by our settlers. As Admiral Nix's fleet joined the fleet of Admiral Hostergaard Jr., the bombardment of Ceti Alpha has been restarted. Few turns and it should be done.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As I said, it was fast. The fleets moved to the last Ferengi system, Berentalia, and will proceed with bombardment.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

At Turn 502, Ferengi Alliance has fallen. System will be resettled immediatelly. Federation Council passed a resolution that says we won't bombard any more systems to ensure peace. Klingons and Cardassians might be our enemies, but there was enough bloodshed of innocents. Besides, the Starfleet is almost invulnerable now. As Destruction of Ferengi Alliance has happened, our two Admirals have been redirected to other systems - Admiral Hostergaard Jr. is en route to Betazed for a long needed stay, whilst Admiral Nix will return to Sol System, paying a quick visit to Klingon space as well.
Cpt.Ivan 9th crashed a small strike group of Klingon ships at Stakoron system. Cpt.Euchre Jack is tasked to visit Cardassia - for obvious reasons. And, last but not least, Cpt.Jarod Cain has been appointed as Commander of Conquered Regions, placing Romulan and Ferengi territories in his jurisdiction.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Wow, that came out of nowhere. We sent Zakdornian leaders our profound apologize with a large gift to show we're truly sorry for this incident.

What follows next is string of colonizations. Both Cardassians and Klingons shape up for war, but their limited resources aren't going to help. They attempt random strikes at our starbases, but they fail miserably.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Oooh, that happens at Turn 527. Dunno what it does, though. We're now on tech level 11 across all six branches of science. Quite possibly it just gives a multiplier on our score when the game ends, like in Civilization games.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Look who visited Beltane system 10 turns later! Cpt.Jarod has been called to deal with this threat. Hopefully we will suffer no further losses.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Calamarain was destroyed by Starbase at Benzar. Cpt.Jarod expressed his dissappointment in lack of action. What to say, he has peaceful sector to maintain. However, Admiral Hostergaard and his fleet were called to Hurkos. Cardassians are amassing forces near their 'western' border, and intelligence reports indicate seven ships already, including two battleships.
Due to Cardassian and Klingon intrusions into our space, Starfleet Command ordered construction of eight Defiant-class starships. They will be sent in pairs, two pairs per neighbour, to intercept enemy vessels.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Just after our Defiants were deployed, our spies managed to steal Cardassian warship - and not just a mere destroyer, no, a Galor-class Battleship! It was take nto Trill system, where it will be evaluated and researched. I wonder if Cpt.Euchre Jack has anything against a Cardassian warship in his fleet!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Turn 561

AT LAST!

After so many years of trials and tribulations, the dream has finally became reality.

We have many voices, but we have a common goal.

We are many worlds, but we stand united, in the cause of peace.

It is only the matter of time now, before our neighbours see the light, and join our great Federation.

We will welcome them, as we always welcomed new members; with open arms, and open minds.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And so we have won Star Trek: Birth of the Federation as the United Federation of Planets. More than 500 glorious turns of challenges and victories. We endured huge, endless wars with other races, united the scattered minor civilizations, defeated the Borg - twice! - and then conquered two of four galactic empires. During this LP, I made 335 screenshots, and due to random technical or my own faults, there should be kinda 10 or so more. Well, happens ;p

Although Cardassians and Klingons remained, their fleets are no match for us. In time, we will broker non-aggression with them, and after that, peace, that will unite this galaxy for decades to come.

Thanks all who were watching, especially the captains and admirals. Without you, the LP would be bland because I wouldn't feel so obligated to get us through all this.

Of course, special thanks to ivanthe8th for sharing his knowledge and experience in this game. Without him I would be propably still struggling over petty, easy things.

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! ^_^

Cya around guys! And Qapla'! *wink wink nudge nudge* ;3

Thank you Haspen! That really was too kind.

Maybe you've learned a lot more from my LP than I had guessed.

I look forward to conquering the galaxy as the Klingons! And at the rate you're playing you'll have won by the time I finish my own game.

Humans, what do you expect?

Excellent LP man, thanks it was a fun ride. I'm going to pre-emptively request a fleet if you do another LP as even though the administration of Ferengi and Romulan territories is nice, blowing stuff up is cool too. ;)

That's because exam session just started (I'm leaving for first exam just in next 15 minutes), so I tried my hardest to finish the LP. Now I can concentrate on learning :3

The Klingon LP should be 'up' in next three or so days. I think :P
