I'd say your first action is Intuition, not knowledge lilli. You don't really have any sort of book on your powers that could allow for proper knowledge based research.

I combined knowledge and intuition. Knowledge for anything he's learned similar to it that he can remember, and intuition for picking what he would actually find useful out of what is selected.

Did we change it so that actions that are reasonably easily done in less time then four hours no longer do not have to obey the time thing? Something. It's late here, am I making sense? Also sorry for not stating which book. That was a screw up, but I am also a little confused why reading has a difficulty at all. But eh.

Four hours: Read more of The Carharn Wheel. +4 know +1 focus -4 to 8 difficulty  (cause of that one page) -1 pain +0 to -4 total

Four Hours: Capture Anchor slime with Circle of Containment. +4 Know +2 easy to control environment  (IE I only let it out when I know the Circle is good) + (maybe) something for me being the one who actually made the slime? -1 pain -4 to 8 for difficulty. +? to -7 total?

Four hours: Make mud oozes. Lots of mud oozes. +4 knowledge... I have no idea.

Ever tried reading Shakespeare? Not every work is written in contemporary English, and when you encounter something written in a distant time and/or translated poorly, it can sometimes be a struggle or at least a nuisance.

(Yes, I'm still watching)

I'm also guessing magic theory is a bit like algebra, or so. You don't just read it. You have to study the book to understand it.

Perhaps Haika should put up some of the older logs, where the GM stuff is dated and insignificant at this point. You lurkers are only getting half the story.

Anyone care to guess at what the 10 elemental planes are? I'm thinking Fire, Air, Water, Earth, Metal, Wood, Aether, Ice, Kittens and Shadow?

My research might yield to us a complete list. Either that, or Emlyn's 49 knowledge could already know all the planes by heart.

I bet Kestral would tell anyone pretty cheaply.

Please note this is Kestrel. Cheap is thus relative per person :P

Or someone could just look it up in Saucy Spheres. But that would be boring.

Our time is worth more then the amount it would take to just get Kestral to tell us.

Eh, our time is only worth 100$ an hour or so, outside of missions, since that's what we can get in pay at the beach. Let's assume I spend an hour to look it up. I've got +4 from Knowledge, but -10 from time for a net of -6. This gives me a 44% chance of getting the info and 66% chance to fail. Thus, we want to pay for the info iff Kestrel wants less than 44$. If it costs even a cent more, then we're statistically better off looking it up ourselves. I think that Kestral would probably want more than 44$, since I've never seen him charge less than 50$, but that's not the real question to be asking, even. The real question, though is "Do I care enough about the names of the elemental planes to effectively pay 100$ to find out?" And the answer there is "Probably not, unless we're going to go there or something."
