((hey, gm, is it too late to join in on this bundle of horrific alien death fun? ))

EDIT: awesome, i can have my very own slice of hell! yaay!

(i'll give y'all my character sheet asap. question though, is there a real scientist/engineering type of player yet? Haven't read all of the thread yet, cause, you know, it's in the 'a song of ice anf fire'-level regarding lenght.

((It's never too late. This isn't an RTD with waitlists. Just submit a character sheet and join the ship-people!))
EDIT: ((Very few science-oriented people or engineers. There's Simus who's a bit of a scientist, Bishop is a techie, but I can't really think of any who fit the mold perfectly. In short, there's one or two. There is a whole lot of medics, though.))

Approach the man- not too closely- and demand his surrender.

HMR stands for Hazardous Materials Requisition, not Horrible Massive Ruination, though I can understand how one could get confused.
God help us if we have to agree on pizza toppings at some point. There will be no survivors.

...99.997 percent, 99.998 percent, 999.999 percent, 100 percent. Lukas' systems finally start up again after going through a seemingly endless update. He looks around to see where he is. He remembers being in the infirmary before starting his update but maybe the doctor moved him.

"Ugh, what...What did I miss? Lukas asked no one in particular.

"Hmm... Must have been more hungry than I thought..."

Finish eating the food, not the wrappings, and then consider the symbols and what they might mean.
(You'll never get a full answer by the way, but you can get a clue like this, assuming you roll a 5)
[int:6]
Clearly the seals are just a distraction, a red herring. Very clever random junk selling man, very clever.

"I was gonna use that!  For... something!  I bought that!  Anyway, watch this."
Grab the nearest knife and cut a long but shallow incision in my left forearm.
[dex:1]
You grab the knife off Bishop's tray and promptly jam in into your wrist before jerking and wrenching it around until your hand is almost completely severed from your wrist. Oddly, you don't feel a thing. That done, you toss the knife nonchalantly over your shoulder and hold your arm up in bishop's face.

The bleeding, what little there was, stops almost instantaneously and something seems to be moving under your skin, down your arm and out to your wrist. In the thin coating of blood and ruined muscle you can both make out faint glints of metal and hair thin legs as your hand moves seemingly of it's own accord, jerking back into place with a nasty popping and cracking sound as the wrist bones realign. You see the little flecks of metal again as they skitter along the bone until they're obscured by regenerating muscle and steam. The skin is last, sealing with  an audible hiss and you can just make out tiny things burrowing back into the flesh and disappearing.

You flex your hand and then use it to steal a bite of goo from bishop's plate.

Enjoy quality programming. Try to determine (purely theoretically) if I have any powers other than fleshwarping.
[intuition:5]
You get the distinct feeling that the only way to tell what you can do is by trying to do it.

Yep, we're always welcoming new future corpses Teammates. Just build a character following the rules found on the first page of the other thread and submit it to live the good life in the offworld...prison ship

((I would like a place for Renen in the next mission too, please.

Hold that thought.

Approach the man- not too closely- and demand his surrender.
[Man end:3]
You walk slowly toward the man, rifle raised, catching your breath. The man struggles to get to his feet and actually manages to get up and hop a few feet before falling back into the mud, holding the burnt and bleeding hole where his kneecap used to be. You can imagine the smell, the charged flesh and bone, the sizzle of acid on his skin.

"Come on." You say stopping a dozen feet back, rifle aimed squarely at him, "We both know how this ends. You surrender and live or I shoot you in the other leg and leave you out here to dissolve. Whats it gonna be?"

The man somehow manages that same smile and drags himself up and under a bowed storefront to escape the rain. He lays there for a second, skin red and irritated anywhere the rain hit him.

"So shoot me."

thusly, here stands my character sheet:

Alright, looks fine to me. Oh, also since you've had no missions, wanna  go on the next one?

You appear to be where you left yourself, all curled up in the corner and generally being ignored.

(as per what happened I'll let other players fill you in story wise and but mechanicswise there's a new npc around selling things over by the research labs.)

Alright people, now is the time to officially throw your name in the hat to be on the next mission. We've got 5 places left (6 if our newest recruit doesn't feel like going) and anyone can throw their name in.

Could magic really solve all of my problems? Guess I'll find out.
Attempt to dislodge remote from couch with my magic, making it land in my hand.

I want in for the next mission!

Mesk grins at his perfectly healed hand, flexing it and wiggling his fingers in Bishop's face.
"And to think I was gonna use that thing on someone else."

"Mother of god..."

Bishop backs away from Mesk with a look of horror on his face.

"Micromachines!! You're fucking infested with micromachines!"

He runs a hand over his face and takes a breath to steady himself.

"I hate to burst your bubble, but that's not exactly a good thing. I've heard all sorts of horror stories in the tech core about those little fuckers when they malfunction or get the wrong idea... Trust me, I hope for your sake that they don't get hacked or tampered with, cause they can really mess you up."

(Wait, are we supposed to in OOC?  If so, I'm in.  Again.)

"Huh?  Micromachines, really?  Never heard of 'em."
Mesk shrugs and picks up the knife again.
"And for my next trick..."
Jam the knife into my thigh, being sure to hit the femoral artery, and leave the knife in the wound.
