You decide to take shelter inside the house, in order to safe yourself from the cold. You clamber down a ventilation hole and find yourself in the cellar. A faint light coming from a machine at the side of the room allows you to see a bit. There are lots of shelves filled with all sort of stuff, though mostly canned. There are also several large closed metal boxes, which seems to giving of a bit of heat. They are probably cooling something. There are stairs going up to the next floor, where the human probably resides.

Actually raiding the humans pantry is a better idea in and off itself. I don't think we should leave a trail for the ants, we should just eat the entire pantry and then go outside and eat the entire nest. Or eat as much of the pantry as possible. Given the amount of food on average a human will keep in their house, will will have tons of biomass and will easilly be able to split 3-4 times and then with our combined blob power we can just nom on all the ants.
