Robes sound okay, provided they're of the wizard or bath variety.


Socks are under the purview of the Foot Foundation, not the Anti Pants Faction.

I think that the only restriction is on pants and pant-like objects. So as long as it isn't an article of clothing covering from the waist to below the knee, split to cover each leg individually, it is acceptable.

I'd start up a Pro-Pants Armada if I didn't think having two opposing threads on the topic was ridiculous. Also this is the internet and we all know that pants are anathema to internet users.

Slacks are quite comfortable though.

You'll only get me in short shorts if I can also wear knee-high red leather boots. Otherwise it's just tacky.

Besides, short shorts seem less comfortable than a nice pair of loose-fitted slacks. Have you ever seen someone in baggy hot pants? I'm just sayin.
