Lately I've been playing the module Shadowrun Unlimited (or was it Infinite...), which is a mostly plot-free, mission driven game with somewhat slower XP accumulation. Plays a bit like the Genesis game.

Yes, that one. It has semi-random missions, from netrunning, bodyguard, courier work to infiltration of corps. You increase your reputation and get better shops and Johnsons. You get "story missions" when you get enough reputation for the next "level". It saves in any city district change, and you can explore pretty much every district from the start (tho most NPCs won't help you since your rep is not high enough).

The spelling can get really bad at times, but that's to be expected from a fan module.

This recently came out for ipad and such, though I imagine that you are stuck with only the basic campaign and none of the cool mods and modules people are making.

Despite a rather spirited defense of the save game system by draco18s, HBS went ahead and implemented a proper one.  Yeah!  It's in the beta option in steam.  Have yet to try it out, but it means I can finally really get into the game, and I figure this is worth a bump since the game should be now more realistically playable and hopefully enjoyable.

Just FYI, I was defending it on grounds of "this is why they did it the way they did it" not "it should not or cannot be done."

No! They should have save spots, every 2 hours of playing, like Breath of Fire!

Yeah sorry, was teasing a bit  :P

Here is the trailer for the expansion Dragonfall, which is "free" to backers, woot!  Like the music a lot.

And here are the release notes for the 1.2 patch.

I think that is pretty much the end, minus a wrap-up scene or two.
