((I'd be careful. Dragons can normally handle baritone fairly well if they're not too old and whatnot, but who knows with you? The higher parts, especially, would probably be rather tough on your hyper-dense draconic flesh.))

Then we could also use some 'elite' sods, also in squads of five, but these are all made up out of sod commander material, so they can work in smaller groups if necessary. I'd propose full synthflesh for the elite ones.

What do you mean with using the mountains? Placing defenses where they are likely to pass? Use the high ground for shooting them better?
And I meant it more like places in the base where the buildings overlook a big open plaza (good for ambush) or where there is nothing that could be used for cover (meaning really fighting them in the open)

I thought it'd be better not to engage them ourselves in the open if possible, since the will most likely be packing real heat, and letting non-armored players go up against a bunch of super-accurate gauss cannon wielding soldiers without any cover sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

Finally, could I please get the RU cost of the following items (if any of these are taken care of by Steve, just say so)

-Hardening the laser batteries and giving them static defenses (for this and the next one, assume the batteries covering our base get a double amount of defenses)
-robotic defenders for the batteries
-lightly mining the area's where they are most likely to land
-Stealthed high-altitude drones capable of reliable imaging

Oh, and what are 'Steve bots' exactly?

((I vote robosods, five in a squad sounds good, same with smarter ones for squad leaders. And synthflesh for elites.

So, I'm going to be gone till Sunday night, someone want to puppet Thaddeus till I'm back?

And if the time jump happens during that time could I get a Mk II suit? and add some milno plate onto it if doesn't cost too much of the teams token pool.))

I'd prefer some simple artillery, for my part.  Simple stuff that can handle some indirect fire action.  Lasers are nice, but they need line of sight.

((I say we go with a mix of all of them. The Doctor's biohorror lab will need to be set up anyway, and will expand our production capacity. We can field both robotic units, biological troops, and augmented cybernetic troops. With just robotics, we hit a bottleneck of production. With just biological troops, we also hit a bottleneck of their creation rate, especially since those facilities still need establishing. Combining the two means our bottleneck will be our resources, instead of our capacity, and variety will be good to have. Teams of five sounds good.))

See if I can help Morul from the above. If not, get back to the team and take some rope, then lower it to Morul. Make sure to maintain secure position on the ground in any case - lay down, grip onto something, etc.

((Something like this works, although depending on how many are made and how many places we're putting them, more than five to a group mightn't be a bad idea.
Also, some "specialist" sods--ones with heavy weapons, or medikits, or something--might be good to sprinkle in. And don't forget communicators of some kind!))

((Not sure enough about the ups and downs of various kinds to say if we should go normal/GM/cyber sods, but maybe a mix wouldn't be a bad idea? Or maybe normal GM sods with cybernetics?))

Well, that's only 30 tokens. Not that much considering some of the peoples monies around here. Although, a melee variant of the battle suit might be more cost efficient....

And any variant of the battlesuit costs 20 tokens.  Here's a host of advantages various variants come with:

ALL battlesuits have superior armor to Milnoplate.  In fact, they have superior armor to the massive shield, and it's 360 degrees no less.  Plus, Milnoplate still doesn't protect against the raw inertia of projectiles- getting shot in the head won't penetrate the armor, but it might snap your neck.
ALL battlesuits have superior power to a single exoskeleton.  Especially the melee one.
Ranged battlesuit comes with a massive sniper laser, IIRC, and melee comes with an anti-vehicle bumper sword.
Mobility battlesuit doesn't come with a weapon, but it does come with rockets and manueverability.

Milnoplate only wins when you require small size, or great manueverability.  So it's better against amps, at least if you have a well-trained user who can fly the thing.))


@Sod conversation:

Also, MKI suits are dirt cheap right?  If so, we should equip even robobody people with them, just for the shock factor of "I shot that guy in the head and he's still shooting at me!".  Also, the enemies won't know whether to target the head or torso of people.  How expensive would it be to equip everyone who has a robot body with a full MKI suit?  How expensive if we modified the suits to be compatible with things like fingercams?))
