'They don't listen.' Charro sighed softly to himself. 'They never listen. Why doesn't anyone like my ideas? I mean, sure, the hat-blade didn't work too well, but it was good in theory. Crazy light-devouring shadowfolk tend to throw a spanner in the works of a lot of well-made plans.'

He pushed those faintly irritated thoughts aside, focusing through the camera on the spot in the darkness where he thought Faith was.
"You alright, Faith? Do let us know right away if there's any trouble."

>Wait. Brood. Film.

>Be ready to put the camera down and help if needs be.

((Shiiiiiiiit.))

"Can't get a good grip, someone else will have to grab it."

Examine what crunched. Examine what crunched!

Also get back to the ramp.

[Aux:4+1]
Crunching sound, hit with your back. Could be a lot of things, but... You check your suit's systems and scroll down to the temperature. It's rising, slowly but steadily rising, already 3 degrees over normal. Heat exchange fin must have been damaged. Not good.

[Dex:5+1] You roll back onto your feet and sprint back in the vague direction of the ramp with everyone on it. You do, however, forget that the sand is actually lower now and run chest first into the edge of the ramp.
[end:4]
You grunt and gasp, clawing your way up onto the ramp before resting on your hands and knees, trying to get the air back in your lungs. Ow.

It's starting to feel a bit warm in your suit.

Damn, confirmed corpse blasts the Lighteater theory to bits. Well, sort of, at least.

Anyways, if you're going out, we're going out. Keeping together is more than just a good idea here, even if just in pairs.

Climb out and back to the top of Tower 1.
[str:1] You try to jump up to grab the edge of the hole you cut and end up missing entirely, flying off toward one of the holes in the side of the walkway.
[dex:1]
Despite a frantic flailing of limbs you miss the edges of the hole entirely and go out, falling blindly into the yawning blackness.

"It appears Simus and I are on a different ramp. I'll be heading onto Walkway 4...or maybe Walkway 3. Too many walkways. Either way, I'll be checking the ground level outside"

Travis heads onto walkway he's near and examines the ground.
You walk out onto the walkway nearest you and look down. You can't see anything.

You sit on the ramp and continue filming the dark until faith suddenly comes screaming out of the abyss like a bat out of hell and slams directly into the ramp with a hollow thud. Ouch. You stand over her and film her as she catches her breath.

Fix the suit. Fix the suit!

"Well, I don't see anything at ground level. Then again, my lamp's light might not reach far enough. Either way, my suspicion was that the Graveyard wasn't a graveyard, but a building, buried under the sand. Going to try and link back up with the rest of the team.

Also, Simus went running off somewhere"

Travis starts heading down the ramp, checking buildings along the way for anything that might connect the two ramps.

Shit, right now is a time I really wish one of you had a functional rocket pack. I've fallen out of the walkway and I'm going to hit, soon, with an acceleration of around 9.8 meters per second per second, if gravity is earth normal, varies according to the gravitational flux the guide told us of... I hope nobody is down there, because, if I don't get severely maimed on impact, whatever is under me likely will, because right now, I'm not even going to bother finishing that calculation of my impact force. However, I'm going to need the medics down there, now!

Orient so as to be falling feet-first, and allow my knees to bend as I impact, as well as allowing my hands to impact right after, trying to get as much of the kinetic force out before my head stops.

After all, it isn't the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop. Hopefully, if there is sand there, it will be even better, as sand is excellent at absorbing kinetic impact.

((Simus is doomed... Time to start preparing another character sheet, I believe, unless the dice shine upon me. Doubt it.

...

Damn!))

"Why would it be happening..." Milno considers the matters for a while, absolutely ignoring Faith's plight.

Also yeah, good luck Pyro. Hopefully we'll at least be able to estimate where you fell to treat/retrieve you. :x))

((At least, as far as things to fall on goes, sand is one of the best. Excellent absorption of kinetic force. Not as good as say, foam rubber, but still much better than say, concrete.

And the way I've done it, if all goes well (yeah, right), I'll be alive, but with some old civilian-grade robolimbs busted up. I can get new, military-grade ones for free back on the ship anyways, if I survive.))

"Uh, slight problem, fixing it now."

Fix the suit. Fix the suit!
If it is the heat exchange fins then you can't fix them without taking off the suit. They're on your back after all.

"Well, I don't see anything at ground level. Then again, my lamp's light might not reach far enough. Either way, my suspicion was that the Graveyard wasn't a graveyard, but a building, buried under the sand. Going to try and link back up with the rest of the team.

Travis starts heading down the ramp, checking buildings along the way for anything that might connect the two ramps.
You walk back into Citadel 1 and down the ramp,  quickly coming upon the flowing, sandy floor. Huh, could probably reach the other ramps from here.

Shit, right now is a time I really wish one of you had a functional rocket pack. I've fallen out of the walkway and I'm going to hit, soon, with an acceleration of around 9.8 meters per second per second, if gravity is earth normal, varies according to the gravitational flux the guide told us of... ((Simus is doomed... Time to start preparing another character sheet, I believe, unless the dice shine upon me. Doubt it.

...

Damn!))
You jerk around in mid air, unsure of how far you are from hitting, and get your feet under you. The time between positioning yourself and impact is the longest seconds of your life; a seemingly infinite slow motion fall through darkness with no reference to anything around you.
[end:6]
You have no chance of thinking as you land, no chance to react, you just strike the sand with both feet and crumple to the ground. The next moments are just fragments, an almost incomprehensible haze of single sensations, the sound of sand from the impact falling back onto your helmet, a brief view of a blood streaked face as your faceplate display flickers off and on, the sensation of artificial nerves reconnecting for a brief instant and filling you with a nonsensical spray of sensation, all dry water and ticklish pain.

You feel like you're still drifting, still falling as you grope blindly at your legs and feel the pile of tangled metal they've become. Vaguely you realize you've cut your forehead against something in the helmet and that your vision is tinted red from the blood in your eyes. You also have a vague realization that you just fell got knows how many stories and that you're still alive. Shattered, lost in the dark and probably bleeding to death internally, but alive for now.

"Ow."

You can't help but notice, despite it all, You're slowly moving.
"Why is this mission so long? It's literally over 80 pages in length."
Sit down and be bored as teammates fall in sand.

BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARG god dang it, you wish things would either hurry the hell up or that everyone would die. Least that would be interesting. At least Simus is trying.

"Thanks for dying, Simus!"

"Hmpf. That was a bust."

Carefully check how eroded the ramp, especially the edge, is. Surely that sand left a mark.

. . .

I think I made it. Can the medics get down to the outside of Tower 1 and start trying to get me? I can't help but notice that I'm being shifted by the sand, and most to all of my limbs are busted up...

At least my head's alright 'cept for a cut on my forehead, far as I can tell.

If I can still move an arm and hand, crack a glowstick to assist the others finding me.

Well, Milno, is Faith and the rest of that group done there?  We need to get outside to haul Simus back, and I have a few small problems with accomplishing that alone.

Start walking towards the walkway by which we entered this place.

"Uhhhh, we're not done but there's another problem. I damaged my heat transfer fins and can't reach them without taking off my suit, so I need someone else to fix them for me. Anyone... know how to do that?

And Simus, which tower is Tower 1 and do you have an estimate for where outside it you are?"

You examine the ramp, running your hand over the edge. It seems like the edge of the ramp is still nice and crisp without any sign of eroding. Maybe the sand doesn't move in and out regularly?
