...examine new cooling system.
Well, judging by the fact that your temperature is stabilizing it must be working, however you're not able to look at it, considering it's on your back.
The new one should be better than that old and battered!
...I hope.
Guess that's the fatigue; should've been more cautious. Or more of this place messing with me?
Now, let us help Simulacrus. Milno, could you help me get down there safely, and then again haul us back? Sorry for bothering you, but your help would make all of it enormously easier.
Milno unties faith (Kinky) and ties the rope around your waist. You sit on the edge of the walkway and then scootch yourself off. There is a terrible instant of freefall before the rope catches and you're being slowly lowered. The trip down seems long, a lot longer then you remember, and when you finally put your feet back on the ground it's not the sand it once was. The ground has a slight dusting of sand, though it continues to flow off into the distance back toward the fall, on top of what looks like smooth sandstone.
You don't see Simus anywhere around.
...Wait a moment, if I can still see, that lantern must have somehow survived.
Try and asses what all is horribly mangled.
Still here, not in great condition, blacked out for a few moments there, but I'm still here. Also, I think my lantern may have somehow survived the fall, since I can still see... I think...
(Who said you can see? You can't)
[end:3]
You grope blindly at your body, feeling for anything that is obviously broken. Well, legs, definitely legs. You have no feeling in your robotic arm, but is seems to be moving, so thats something. Back doesn't seem broken, well at least not the spine. Your feel fucking terrible and you're pretty sure that you just reconcussed yourself, but it doesn't seem like you're dying.
"Hmmm...."
Travis scoops up about 1/3 container of sand and examines what it does when held up right. He then seals the top and places it on it's side on the ground. If it moves, he quickly snatches it again.
You catch a jar of sand and place it on the ramp. The sand gathers on one side of the jar, going as far to flow up the wall a bit, but doesn't move the jar.
