"Hey, you know, I have an idea!" Charro spoke up suddenly, a gleam of excitement in his green eyes.
He still held the camera pointed in Faith's direction, of course, but he wasn't really paying much attention. "What if we took a whole bunch of jars and such, and used one of those manipulo-whatsits to make them into one big jar! If it was large enough and had some sort of lid, then we could catch one of those shadowy creatures in it, wouldn't you think?"
He looked hopefully towards the others for a moment, before returning the camera to Faith as he pondered whether that could really work.

>Ponder my idea and how likely it would be to work!

>Oh, and keep filming Faith.

Milno turned towards Nikitian and Chin, both the cripples of the turn.
"Wouldn't it be better if you waited a little more away from the sand and maybe inside that walkway? Just in case, so I don't have to tie a bundle of people to my back and then try to escape a wave of sand."

"Talking of which, I'm staying near that walkway just in case the sand decides to flush Worst and we end up with almost no reaction time."

Check how much more slack the rope has so the group may move closer to the room that leads to a walkway while still allowing Faith to explore.

Edit: Drag Gorat along.

You check how much slack is left in the rope. It looks like a fair bit, so you tie the rope around your waist and help Gorat up the ramp until you run out of slack. That done you walk back to the edge of the ramp and resume your duties as counterweight.

Affirmative. We'll wait up in the walkway.
...Good luck.

Take Gorat and help him get back to the walkway. Sit down there and have a light nap.
Oh, and by the way, Faith, mind if you give us the video feed so that we could also see whatever is there without the need to see it in person?
If she agrees, try establishing a link to her suit's camera.
You help Chin the rest of the way up the ramp into the walkway room and settle down against the wall, closing your eyes.

"Sure, let's hobble up. A bit further perhaps, there may be something I want to test."

Hobble upwards.
You hobble up the ramp, helped first by Milno and then by Maurice, who decides to stop for a nap at the entrance to the walkway you got in through. You stand outside the room, not sure if you want to continue up or if this will be a good enough place to test what you want to.

"Hey, you know, I have an idea!" Charro spoke up suddenly, a gleam of excitement in his green eyes.

You keep filming in the vague direction where faith disappeared while thinking over your idea.

[int:?]
You're not even really sure what the hell is going on in your head right now.

"Just in case, Maurice, before you doze off, what direction does your sand sample point right now?"

Await the answer. Assuming I receive it, determine a spot on the wall, fingernail-sized, so that the sand direction doesn't point to us. Otherwise, choose the spot from the last time I've seen the sample. Cool that spot down, slowly. Make sure the suitcam records if something happens.

"So, what have you found so far? Status report." Milno says dryly through the comms, still standing a bit far at the darkness beyond, thinking how wonderful of an excuse it would be if the sand started to drag Faith so he "had to cut the rope lest be be dragged with her".

Bullshit, of course, but he grinned at the thought. Well, there was a chance of it happening.

Keep waiting and stare at the sand and the ramp. Try to think of how the sand moves when it is time to fill the area they are in. Does it move upwards with extreme speed, slowly or does it fall from the top...?

"Hey steve." You speak into the air.
>Yes?
"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

Hmmm... Just a moment.
Check my sand containers, and show them to Gorat.

(To Simus) "I'm starting to get the idea these citadels are cookie cut. I'm sure we'd find the same thing on the other side. You're free to go, but I'm not going to head back to confirm something that I already know

(To team) Simus and I have found an....entry room of sorts to Walkway 2. It's smooth and like a funnel. I'm going to take a look at ground level, outside the Citadel. Anything to report from your side team?"

Travis heads through the room and down the ramp, checking how many ramp entry ways he passes. He stops at Walkway 1 and checks what's going on at ground level.

"Yeah, it's a corpse. There's also a building inside this building, not sure what for or how we'd reach it. The corpse is banging against it, so apparently that's where the sand leads, though."

Link up my video feed to the others, if possible. Attempt to drag the corpse back to the ramp.

In case you have missed all of our previous transmissions, Travis, be careful with the sand - it have been receding for some time now, and the ground level must be quite lower than when we first came here; it might start rising again soon.
Oh, and it looks like we've found a body - likely of the older brother.

After getting your answer from Maurice you walk over to the wall and concentrate on cooling it. [exo:3+1] You cool the small section of wall a good deal, enough that the contraction causes it to crack, but there doesn't appear to be any other effects.

"So, what have you found so far? Status report." Milno says dryly through the comms, still standing a bit far at the darkness beyond, thinking how wonderful of an excuse it would be if the sand started to drag Faith so he "had to cut the rope lest be be dragged with her".

Keep waiting and stare at the sand and the ramp. Try to think of how the sand moves when it is time to fill the area they are in. Does it move upwards with extreme speed, slowly or does it fall from the top...?

[int:4] You stare at the sand as it slowly drains away and think about everything you've seen. The sand is draining almost like water, so it will probably flow back in the same way.
[intuition: 5]
However, you can't shake the feeling that this all isn't normal. Those tones that caused the waves of sand, the constant lower tones that are still happening now...maybe they're driving the sand away somehow. But if thats true, why is it happening?

Hmmm... Just a moment.
Check my sand containers, and show them to Gorat.
You show the sand containers to Chin and note that they have grown, but barely, even less then before.

(To Simus) "I'm starting to get the idea these citadels are cookie cut. I'm sure we'd find the same thing on the other side. You're free to go, but I'm not going to head back to confirm something that I already know

Travis heads through the room and down the ramp, checking how many ramp entry ways he passes. He stops at Walkway 1 and checks what's going on at ground level.
You walk back down, peeking into every room on the way. You find two more walkways before stop. The last walkway you found was at the same level as the walkway you originally entered the building through, but it isn't the same one. You come to the sudden realization that you're actually on a different ramp. The walkway you climbed down onto must have been going to a ramp that wrapped under the one you climbed up originally.

"Yeah, it's a corpse. There's also a building inside this building, not sure what for or how we'd reach it. The corpse is banging against it, so apparently that's where the sand leads, though."

Link up my video feed to the others, if possible. Attempt to drag the corpse back to the ramp.
[aux:3+1] You manage to link a video, but not an audio, feed to the rest of the team. That done you go to get the corpse
[str:1-1]
You grab hold of part of his clothing and try to tug him back toward the ramp, but you lose your grip nearly instantly and go falling back onto the sand, immediately rolling and being slammed against the wall. You hear something metal crunch as you roll back first into the stone but you don't feel anything.

"Maybe I should have just taken the backpack eh?" You groan into the radio as you bounce helplessly against the wall.

"Can't get a good grip, someone else will have to grab it."

Examine what crunched. Examine what crunched!

Also get back to the ramp.

Damn, confirmed corpse blasts the Lighteater theory to bits. Well, sort of, at least.

Anyways, if you're going out, we're going out. Keeping together is more than just a good idea here, even if just in pairs.

"Something doesn't add up with that. Both brothers vanished beneath the fall- one in the graveyard, the other in the citadel. We've found the citadel brother, so Lighteater would have to have been the one that vanished from camping in the graveyard.

However, that'd mean he managed to get back up and stop off at the tower. That doesn't make sense, unless maybe he rode one of those things? Flaming humanoids other than us doesn't make a lot of sense either, though, so I'm not really sure what to think."

"It appears Simus and I are on a different ramp. I'll be heading onto Walkway 4...or maybe Walkway 3. Too many walkways. Either way, I'll be checking the ground level outside"

Travis heads onto walkway he's near and examines the ground.
