Urist McGreatBowyer has been possesed!
Urist McGreatBowyer has clamed a Bowyers workshop!
Urist McGreatBowyer has begun a misterious construction!
Urist McGreatBowyer has created "Derp Imuseless" a wooden blowgun!

...and thats when he met the magma...
Oh wow.  I forgot.  That's what the third crossbow maker in my fort made.  Even worse than the bows, but my hatred was already used up by then.

Yeah, I pretty much assigned all of them to the military for a future in the front-line against the HFS.

Good: Just got a bone crossbow.

Now, far from the best artifact ever, but one of the best things a bonecarver can make an artifact of. I can actually use it.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

My favorites so far

A pigbone pick. The miner ended up becoming my militia commander and he killed so many things with it regardless the material. I think the lightness gave him a speed edge.

Black bronze breastplate. Just for the mental image. Menaced with spikes of steel. effectively making the torso of the wearer look like a living mace xD.

Dragonbone Crossbow. This was given to my baron who like hunting alot. Images decorated onto it in goblin bone. Perfect hunting weapon for a baron.

@Maxmurder: I had one of these. Give it to your CotG or Hammerer.

For my longest lived fort yet, I've been getting nothing but thongs for artifacts. 5 of them in a row, made of either pig-tail fiber or various kinds of leather. 5 in a row. I got pissed and then very disturbed when the 6th artifact was yet another thong, but with an image of a helmet snake and menacing with spikes of iron.

I thought that it couldn't get any worse, that whoever made that was the ultimate dwarf pervert. I was wrong.

1 year later, a child got a fell mood, and guess what they made? A dwarf leather thong!

I'm starting to think there's some kind of evil sex cult in my fort.

My best and most recent was a golden throne decorated with elephant leather and spikes of goblin bone.
In weapons and armor the best so far were golden hammer and lead shield with image of the dwarven king in human bone.
Also, my dwarfs seem to like making gem coffins. Coolest was amethyst one. It would look awesome IRL.

Good; Raw candy table, not bad. Kobold bone hammer, AKA wiffle-bat, with sick carvings, gave it to the Hammerer. Best was a golden anvil with civilizations' history and a ton of gems.

Bad; Obsidian flute in a human fort. Zero decorations, just a big, hard, black... flute.  Of course, it had to be a Possession.  Of course.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

Dragonbone Crossbow. This was given to my baron who like hunting alot.

This is an Alot bone scepter.  All craftdwarfship is of the highest quality.  On the scepter is an image in oak of Urist McBaron and an Alot.  The Alot is cowering.  This object menaces with spikes of llama wool and is adorned with hanging rings of steel.
