Just think about that. Child Vampires, cursed to never age. You should not kill them. You should separate them from the rest, but let them still watch and see people every day. Then everyone they ever knew grows old and dies around them, while they remain confined. Trapped as a child, in a small, weak body that never changes. Forever.
This also applies to unlucky mortals who end up stuck with the child role through some Rare social quirk forever labeling them such even though their 40 years old.
Though this doesn't matter to dwarves as their all equally short bearded folk who love magma and booze and mushrooms.
Still don't see why so many folk hate vampires? Their your personal Hammerer that you can stick in nobles rooms. Agents of Armok sent down to keep the fort living eternally.

Witnesses will still report whatever they saw.  The bug fix only refers to vampires making up stories.  Accusing adults instead of children and especially babies is more credible.
Ah I see, that's good then.

More credible? This means any witness saying any one but an adult did it would be right and not a vampire. Thus dwarves will rise suspicion that someone a vampire for not fingering some random adult dorf.

I think honest witnesses can mistakenly accuse children.  They certainly accuse the wrong person sometimes (four out of twenty witnesses to a recent murder were mistaken).  I assume that they can mistakenly accuse a child that way, though I don't actually know.

Thanks for the updates is there any chance of the marlesdwarf training bug being fixed soon? They are so useful and all the areas I embark in have a dirth of things to hunt.

A bug that stopped all archery training was fixed in 0.34.03.  Is that the one you meant?  There are a number of smaller bugs with training and ranged weapons (they're linked from that report), but none of them are total showstoppers like the one that was fixed.

Wait, Necromancers can appear in Dwarf Fortress mode?  Like, what, they can attack?  Migrate?  I couldn't embark on a Necromancer tower, I didn't think?

Are you suggesting that necromancing swallows mi-grate??!

600 years of development in less than an hour ...
I am impressed (after in 34.03 it usually took 12 hours to just get to 300

Even though I don't have time to play much anymore, the changelog for dwarf fortress always gives me a chuckle. Undead pets ftw!

New exotic taming system! This will be ultra-popular.

in .05, I had dragons breeding in world gen. I've never seen this happen before.

I didn't notice it in .31 but since .01 I have had dragons breeding. I suspect that their fluctuating numbers are behind the common 3rd and 4th ages of myth.

I think it's great, megabeasts should breed in world gen. I've not noticed the other major megabeasts breeding though.

I'll be glad when world gen processes continue through dwarf or adventure mode play. Imagine retiring an epic fort with a huge clutch of dragonlings, and then advancing the world another hundred years and seeing how the release of megabeasts affects the course of events...

(*) removed many effects and secret identity from ghosts (vampirism/lycanthropy/necromancer status etc.)
I guess this isn't retroactive? I loaded up a 34.04 save which has a vampire ghost in it, he's still using his secret identity. And since he wasn't married to anyone, I've got absolutely no way to track down this vamps name in legends mode.
Could we at least make it so that if there is an existing memorial with a name on it/a coffin with a body in it, that name is removed from the list/or otherwise altered so it's clear that dwarf has been taken care of?
