The main problem is, Where. Directions essential, too.

OKay bay12. Deux has set up a place for us to gather, prepare, and build a ship so we can embark to our epic bay12 area.
The following directions will lead you there... (expect a 10min walk or so)

- At spawn look around, and head towards the only mountain you can see over the walls. Outside the gate should be 2 large unfinished cogs.

- Facing the mountain, take a left and make your way along the road that leads around the lake. You'll pass by a little town with a red brick merchant building.when you hover mouse over it, it says "Merchant. New items added..."

- Keep following the road along the bank of the lake. You'll pass by a bunch of mines and a few scattered houses and whatnot. If u keep following the road that hugs the lake you'll come across a keep that gives you a message "welcome to hammerdale". Follow the road past it

- you'll come across a junction in the road with a sign that says "To strongbox". Dont go down that way, and keep moving straight.

-The road will take you up over a bit of a hill, but no paths lead off it so its easy to follow at this point. (right before the hill is a patch of clay you may want to dig a few bits from)

-You'll come to a branch in the road. Follow the sign that says "Dead-end shoehorn cove"

- follow the road past that giant statue, and into the area with tons of thorns. (do not walk through the thorns, they hurt)

- The road follows around a little keep, and has a junction that goes up to a mine. Ignore the mine and keep following the road.

- the road ends at an iron gate and a house that shows "permitx's mansion" when you mouse over it. Make your wey around the house and through the forest behind it. (ur almost there)

- inside the forest you'll find 2 houses. Go directly between them and it'll take you to deux's place

EDIT: As a heads up, this is a TEMP location. Plan is to build a ship and gather supplies only. We're sharing land with another community so we need to be respectful and not dig/build all over.

Btw guys here is some rules for the area we are in! Please follow theese so we can have a nice relationship with the community :)
[23:39:37] <Kuzym> Well no building while I'm gone. I want to approve any buildings including fences. The moss field is yours.
[23:39:46] <Kuzym> Wood should be taken from deeper inside the forest, from pine trees only.
[23:39:58] <Kuzym> If a champion bear happens to spawn under no circumstance is it to be killed.

Edit: btw the plan for now seems to be to make a rowing boat, so just check the wiki on what stuff we need, any finished materials for the boat is stored in the chest inside the house!

I started a new char named Conall. Been mining, got it up to 25 so far. I aim to be able to provide us with high quality iron.

I paved the house with slabs :D

Three extra slabs on the floor in there, and there are like 30ish more slabs in the mine (inside a ways, right at the start of the water area that I dug out) if anyone wants to haul em back to pave something.

What server thing are we playing on? I chose Hots and just seem to get killed by random things a lot.

Sorry for the lack of post folks, had some RL stuff going on so I had little time for the internet.

Nice work Deux and Evan, you've done far more than I did. :D

As for settling, I was thinking somewhere around the northern volcanic island or NorthWest Pass on <ahref="http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/6681/publicseren.png">This map[/url]. I tried getting there on foot along with Dariush, but we both died from various nasty creatures.

As Exerosp mentioned, tar might be a little hard to come by, so we'll have to send expeditions every so often to gather large amounts of the stuff from either the mainland, or the mountain island between the volcanoes. Trees and grass would be no problem as long as we bring a bunch of saplings with us.

Boats are a good idea, but we'd either need alot of boats, or someone who is willing to ferry everyone over one at a time while everybody else waits at the shore.

PS: I'll add all of this new info to the main post.

As far as I remember you can fit 3 to a rowing boat (captain + 2 passengers). Also, I've heard if you log out (assuming your swimming with low stamina) for a good chunk of time your stamina will regenerate, I believe Rolf mentioned it in his blog when he was crossing servers by swimming.

Making row boats is a PITA, by the way. :-\

Larger boats are great if someone has the mind logic to command it. You would also need the boat itself, which would either require a fist full of silver or a good deal of skill and a bit of time.

Argh, let's hope it does not take too long to find iron.

Edit: Piemaster, who are you ingame?
