So I'm giving wurm a try again.

And consider me surprised when I found out I still had my gold2 items and skills <3 73 blacksmithing.
Oh well that won't help on epic :P

We can still make deep underground complexes, but someone might grief us. Oh well.
make one of those hidden doors that appear as rock and lock it to any non-bay12ers?

also, I think that there wouldn't be griefing, as griefing is Uber hard on wurm.
Dropshafts.

Edit: Oh and, me and Piemaster are apparently elves. Seeing how we can butcher humanoids. And have the strongest pvp spells. And you guys can write /referal, and refer other premium players to give them silver. I refered Azated. (And let's include that each referal gives them 3s, or 20days of premium). And we're apart of Libila... So don't hate us. But we might get killed by random JKers when we're where you guys are.

Being around HOTS as JK makes scary messages pop up about how your skills start to suffer and how you feel like killing stuff all of a sudden. :P

Seriously? Even if we haven't got a libila altar placed?

I got a doll from Pukudo and improved it to 25, and Bibityboobity was nice enough to give us 3 more practice dolls of pretty good quality (30-47) too. They're all in the house if anyone wants to practice with them.

Just remember: Stop and repair them repeatedly, and watch their quality - if it gets low stop using em and improve them (or wait until someone else does). Don't want to break them :)

Also, I suggest using 1ql belaying pins (create shaft from a 1ql log then carve a belaying pin out of it). They will deal minimal damage to the dummies, and swing very fast - especially with one in each hand.

Oh, and make a Stop key bind. See wiki on key binds for how to do it. Comes in real handy.

Status update: Boat already finished by water, thanks for all the hard work.
Meanwhile, as the volcano island is so lush, some think it is not dwarfy enough. In addition, some mentioned that on the west side = open to Enemy raids. We have to make a decision fast.

We could embark on the sand-filled caldera high in the mountains. We'd just need to fill in some of the sand with dirt, level it all off and we'll have a mountain-top fortress.

Unfortunately, it's still pretty close to elevation, but the height is a great deterrant. Instead, we could embark somewhere near the large bay to the far southeast, between the Mogul Mountains and Squarpian Beach.

Good place for an outpost, maybe? Some of us could act as the "hill dwarves" Toady's mentioned a few times, and send the main fortress shipments of grain and lumber in return for tools and manufactured goods, as well as military protection in times of need.

Never used Dwarf Therapist, mods or tilesets in all the years I've been playing.
I think Toady's confusing interface better simulates the experience of a bunch of disorganised drunken dwarves running a fort.

So, a few months ago I was playing Wurm every day. I was getting right into it, but eventually my premium time ran out and I never got around to refilling it. Obviously, everything I had is likely gone, so I'd have to start again.

I've been thinking about the game quite alot recently and thought I might get back into it. I had a look on the wurm website and saw, to my joy, that a whole bunch of new servers had been added. In my previous playthrough I had settled on a lonely little island in the northeast portion of the independence and realized that this was probably the reason I never renewed my premium.

Glancing at my bookmark toolbar, I saw the Bay 12 link. I had a brilliant idea; wurm seems like the kind of game alot of you would like, so why not ask around and see if a few of you dorfs would be interested in starting our own little village on one of the new servers.
~~~
Seems we have alot of interest. If you want to join, please post the name you will be using ingame so that other players can contact you. All the info you'll need is below
~~~Wurm Server info~~~
Serenity server, village location to be decided.

Temp village is near permitx's mansion. Directions in the spoiler. (Thanks to Deux and Evanvolker)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I have a moderately well skilled account on the former wild server, which server is serenity because theres like, 8 trillion goddamn servers now.

Also if I come back I'll probably be 'in the village' but not 'in the village' since I have a tendency to wander and start operations here and there and everywhere. Unless some kind of big operation starts, or if this is a server where theres PvP, in which case wardeeds, raids, defenses ect I'll be all over. By the screens in this thread its on one of the epic servers, so I get to start all over. I'm actually slightly glad for that. My other character was all over the map, account was messy to look at its skills.

I ran out of premium slightly before epic was released, Wild became a stagnant pit of nothing. There were wardeeds, sure. Like two, one Mol Rehan, one JK. Kingdom wars was the one deed sitting just out of local of the other, every so often you'd walk over with friends, shoot a catapult and then everyone would run away. HotS was p. much destroyed, all that really remained was the starter deed and a just offshore island fortress, no idea what became of that. I was expecting them to be destroyed by MR.

Last I knew JK and MR were losing players to Freedom, HotS was losing players to JK and MR, and everything became slow, dull, boring. The once dynamic and changing Wild server became a long duldrum of nothing. The last great fight was the MR and JK battle from the pass to House of Mol Rehan, at the wardeed of Gates of Hell, to eventually the doorstep of the guardians of the whitelight, Valhalla and the great wall of what the crap how did you make that, spanning the gap between Gedds Mountain and some other smaller mountains, sealing the only way to the WL without going straight around into Kyara, the, last I knew, impenetrable fortress of JK.

Then Rolf moved the WL because MR said it wasnt fair, MR took the WL and the server became very boring very fast.

TL;DR
I have stories

its definitely do-able. On the Wild server there lived a lonely Hermit, this lonely Hermit was named Gedd.

Gedd liked tall things, tall mountains. He found the tallest and climbed on top. On the top he put down a deed for a village. Thereafter it was called 'Gedds Mountain'.

Were he a little less hermit-y and spent less time frolicking with the neighborhood trolls his already nigh impenetrable village, which was a single ring of low stone walls only made impenetrable by virtue of the fact it was on the top of the tallest mountain in the server, would have been completely unraidable.

He also apparently did the same thing on the independence server, but he had a pet dragon there or something lol
