Magma, You gonna accuse me of asking stupid questions while asking none of your own? Or are you going to actually do some scumhunting now?

"silly question time is over" Thats quite good coming from you magma.

I'm not the player I was yesterday. But that's not the point. This is:

When do you plan on starting to respond in a way that doesn't look like you're just waiting for Dariush to lose interest (Hint: it won't work)?

Remember this?

You're really good at answering questions I didn't ask. But if I didn't ask a question, then I'm not interested in you giving me an answer to that question.

On the other hand, you ignored the question I did ask, just like all the questions Dariush asked. If you think that you're too good to answer those questions, think again.

Still, your post can help me answer my question myself: Exactly the moment you posted that. Now it seems like you want to be a douche to me as well.

You're either completely insane or just really bad at playing Mafia. Get sane and/or better right this instant. Or else.

Scelly9, what will happen if you continue playing like this?

PPE:

Magma, You gonna accuse me of asking stupid questions?

Yes. Because you are asking stupid questions. Like this one.

Or are you going to actually do some scumhunting now?

Oh, good you noticed.

while asking none of your own?

Sigh. You didn't notice after all.

Right now.

Scelly9, what will happen if you continue playing like this?
I'm gonna get lynched.

Give me detailed explanations what would you do if he answered that scum would win or that town would win and how that would help you find scum.
Ok. Fine. Here's my answer. I have no goddammed idea. I asked it because I thought it might help,  I already mentioned that I post before I think. That question and the outburst against you where both those times. I'm flying by the seat of my pants at the moment because I am a bit like magma, the theory you read seems fine but when you play its completely different. The reason I did not tell you earlier is this:

Besides, you are REALLY good at pissing poeple off.

Ok, on with the game.

Still have a dreadful headache and I can barely see (my terrible eye is becoming my dominant eye. I have to wait until the 12th to get it checked) but hey, Mafia does not wait. Sorry for my absence.

Uber Pye: Wait, 'too towny'? Is that a joke, because I seem to never get the punchline with mafia jokes. How did Flandre defend Scelly? Please explain.

Scelly: Do not encourage people to answer your spineless fillers. Pessimistic or optimistic about what, exactly? About whether or not he thinks he will win? I do not see how this helps you in finding out if he is scum.

I will read over a bit more to get my bearings over what the hell has been going on. These are the things that came to mind from scanning, though.

Mother of god. You're still on the filler thing? That was bad wording. Pessimistic or optimistic about everything. In my experience a person is usually either a glass half full or a glass half empty person. For instance, if a person known for always being extremely optomistic about the towns chances suddenly one game decides that "We will never catch the mafia!" It could be a sign that they are extremely confident in their abilities and think that which ever side they are on will win. I realize that this logic may be flawed by too many rounds of Serial Killer back on the old Goblins forums, in that game you could recruit people onto the evil team. Besides, when playing a game like this it helps to get into the enemies head.

Mii : Looking too towny is when they are looking to good to be true, like avoiding scumtells, or being too defensive.

For Flandre's defense of Scelly, she was too quick to jump on broad with Scelly

Are you defending Flandre Mii?

Obolisk,
I don't want to look like I'm bandwagoning/bussing him/going for the easy lynch, all of which are scum tells from my understanding.
Then don't bandwagon/bus/go for the easy lynch.
Got it.

Quote
Ok Scelly9, i would choose one of the ICs seeing as they are experienced
because i am so inexperienced and ,as has already been stated by obolisk0430, I am likely just an
 idiot.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but this seems to be boarding on and/or potential for WIFOM.
You're looking really suspicious.
Not only is that WIFOM accusation patently ridiculous, but I answered in a pretty much the same way and you didn't mention it. Looking for the easy lynch there?

Also, don't use red text for anything except votes, since that breaks LurkerTracker, which at least several mods use to track the votes.
As I said, I felt that there was POTENTIAL for WIFOM.  Clearly something that has potential for WIFOM isn't considered scummy.  My bad.
I actually ment to vote for him and have the "You're looking really suspicious" thing be black, but I was posting on my phone and messed it up.

This guy just seems off to me.
Bullshit. From the start of the game you are being extremely passive, you softball everyone, you theoretize, you speak much and do little. Do you have anything solid, something that you can reinforce by quotes, obolisk?
Unfortunately, I'm naturally passive/softballish.  As I told Jim, I don't like commiting unless I am certain of victory.  Obviosly, this is why I'm in a begginers mafia game.

For example, Mii seems a bit eager to jump on people, although not much has been posted, so I can't be to sure.
...And here I scroll lower and see more bullshit. 'A bit', 'although', 'I can't be sure'. Take a stance, dammit.
See above.

Lol
Jim: If the day ended right now, with no lynch, and you were scum, who would you NK?
First of all, why did you put 'Lol' at the beginning? No, that was not a rhetorical question. I want to know what you found so funny.

Second, questions about 'who you would NK' are generally considered rolefishing. No matter how the person answers, next day you'll be able to make them look guilty.

I was laughing at jaxler's not knowing anything about the cop role.  I found it amusing.  I wasn't aware 'who would you NK' is considered role fishing.  I'm not sure what my exact thought process was for why that question was a good question, but it involved people being suspicious of the recipiant of the question.

That could be the truth.  It could also be complete bullshit.  Going for easy lynches is a scumtell, because they just want to get their NKs in.  I'm not convinced.
Oh yay, more softballing and WIFOM. The very same WIFOM of which you accused uber pye.
Here, you're just ignoring the fact that I DID commit to it one or two posts down, where I decided to through out the 'I can't be sure bit'.  I didn't intend any WIFOM, that's just how I think.

Where did he say this? I can't find any instance of where uber pye said someone was being too townie.

"Laying low" is part of what got you voted on in the first place, we told you that. Also, if you decided not to grill Jaxler, why did you not choose a new targe?

Quote
you on the other hand are asking quite a lot of questions that are filler and it seemed to me you were eager to magma why is this?
Please tell me which of my questions was filler, other than the one I already explained.
Also, you missed this one: Uber Pye: Who do you think is going to win this round? Just a gut feeling.

  • Laying low also got at least one person off my back a good portion of that was also me just not being on
  • the ones like your very first question
  • well looking at the past, scum have won so my money is on them

You Scelly seem to be acting a bit too towny for my tastes
and
Flandre are you Defending Scelly?

Uber Pye
: Why are you voting me? Other than the "too towny" thing.
Scelly : You seem to me to be pressuring me to change my vote, you were rolefishing(early game), and active-lurking(early game)

Q:how do you feel about other people defending you?

Uber pye:
You Scelly seem to be acting a bit too towny for my tastes
and
Flandre are you Defending Scelly?
I didn't care about who you voted for, but the fact that you just nonchalantly moved your vote over for lack of a target made me raise the question. But, I suppose I did technically defend Scelly.
Are you defending Flandre Mii?
Is it your intention to criticise everyone who happens to attack someone for saying something that happens to target someone else?

Uber Pye
: Why are you voting me? Other than the "too towny" thing.
Scelly : You seem to me to be pressuring me to change my vote, you were rolefishing(early game), and active-lurking(early game)
So, you are voting for him because he responded to being voted by you, Uber pye? This reason defies logic, and sounds to me like something you fabricated just for this answer. Explain.

I really don't know where I was "Active lurking"

Other people defending me... hmmm I guess I wouldn't really mind it, however it might get more suspicion on me. By the way, your theory about flandre jumping on you too fast is absolute crap. Mostly because you are acting REALLY freaking suspicious.

Hmm. Yeah.

Calling someone too townie is a fallacy. It is called the Too Townie Fallacy.

The qualities that make somebody look town can not be used as evidence that a player is scum. It just doesn't make any goddamn sense.

That said, if a player is trying to look town by doing various things (my example is when people talk about 'the good of the town'), but they are not scumhunting, then that's scummy, because it shows more concern about appearance than actually hunting and finding scum. Which, as I have said on multiple occasions, is the town's primary goal.

I really don't know where I was "Active lurking"

Active lurking is when somebody is around and posting but not making any significant contributions or any scumhunting. Compare this to lurking, when a player is simply completely absent. When done deliberately, both are scummy.

People have lives and stuff happens. You'll appreciate it when you're busy if people give you some slack for real life obligations.

Unvote
So, I've been tossing stuff back and forth through my head for a while, and you know what?  Dariush seems to be quite viciously jumping on everyone.  Although this seems to be what he normally does, considering most of us our newbies, I find this quite strange.  Looking for an easy lynch?
