Specific examples of things that are out of the ordinary would be nice.

 I was looking for something out of the ordinary then I'd look for things that weren't where they used to be and people out late at night.

"Jax, let's say you're the Cop. You want to catch scum during the night with an inspection. What do you look for?"

Well, if somebody was out late at night for no apparent reason wouldn't that seem a bit out of the ordinary? Isn't that something a cop would wan't to look for? Cuz if I was a cop I'd look for that.

Well your right I don't have an idea. I guess I'll go reread the first post.

It's pretty clear you have no idea what any of the roles do, or how the game flows in general.

There are two phases: Day and Night. In the Day phase (now) discussion is unrestricted, and players can vote to lynch a player to remove them from the game and learn their alignment. After each lynch, the game proceeds to night, where discussion is prohibited, and the mafia gets to perform a night kill, which removes a player from the game. Once the mafia performs their kill, and all the other power roles perform their actions, the game proceeds to the Day phase again, where players can freely discuss again.

The Cop does not patrol around town in his car looking for suspicious people. What he does is he inspects a player during the night phase and learns his alignment, town or scum.
