Eggs need to be fertilized.  Otherwise pretty much every mod would have some kind of golem for the player to make.

Dwarves making adamantine dwarves. What could possibly go wrong.

I'd definitely watch it.

Although it's missing some socks.

We can make a lever out of a single gear, make two gears span the entire world, but we can't make a robot/automaton? We should ask Toady about this sometime...

It might be included, some day. Maybe.

At last, some halfway decent migrants. A few good swordsmen and spearmen, the rest I made into masons to get the building done faster. Got some new farms an the upper class dining hall's almost done. I'll need some way to keep the impure dwarves out of it. Ideas welcome and needed.

Does your city design allow you to seal the upper class off from the peasants? Wall off everything to keep people in their place. I imagine one or more of your classes isn't completely self-sufficient so create some airlocked storage areas for trade between the neighborhoods. Essentially:

<-- Peasant Town |WALL|  storage  |WALL| Upper Class Town -->

Keep the peasant side lowered and the upper class wall raised and let those peons haul food/drinks/raw materials/furniture/whatevs into the storage area until it fills up. Raise the peasant wall once all haulers are clear. Lower upper class wall and feed their storage areas from this storage area. Raise upper class wall. Repeat process, backwards if you wish. You can also set up a burrow in the airlock and use it to move lost/demoted/promoted dwarves in or out.

For bonus points make the upper class wall aesthetically pleasing with a few tasteful statues inside of it (and outside, to make those peasants jealous) and the peasant wall a mess of wood and ugly stones.

Make the upper quarter all blocks, and the lower quarters all rough stone/logs.

Make everything confusing and hard to find; just like in Markarth!

If he's trying to emulate Skyrim towns though, they aren't THAT divided. All the buildings (except Markath, but that's a special case) tend to be pretty uniform. The important people just live in larger houses generally.

Use burrows to keep dorfs where they belong.

Markarth would be pretty awesome, but it might be hard to get the right embark for it.

I can't recall the name but i believe someone worked out a golem mod where they had to "eat" charcoal or oil or something instead of booze. Its probably still buried in the mods board if you want to find it.

Don't forget to build houses which have multiple floors so that you can have the carpenter living upstairs over his workshop.
