This is a useful feature..and this is DF.. so im gonna assume its bugged
That's what cages and minecart shotguns are for!  We don't need to control them.  We just need to aim them.

Well i returned to my quarters to day to find a notice from the former ruler of the settlement, it read that I would be the new ruler as of the 28 of obsidian. I figured that i might as well do it as the fort practically runs itself and barring any unforseen events i wouldn't be executed for stupidity
1st granite I begin digging my royal quarters
    Udil has finished his secret Project gastlilar a raw adamantine amulet
3rd Granite
 a beautiful baby girl has been born
17 slate
 a forgotten beast has arrived it is huge and scaly as well as sluglike in appearanceit is spewing deadly dust all over the place. I am conflicted as to my course of action do I engage it with my military or seal off the caverns and let the next  ruler deal with it, I may ask some of the former rulers for their advice.

more raw adamantine a stone some leather and some cloth there is a picture of dwatves on it

Yup, the military is probably up to killing it, just that dust would probably kill everything it touched. And I don't fancy dying :-\ .

Our marksdwarves are kinda awesome though...

hey everything about my computer set up went kaboolie so i tried playing dwarf fortress at the library and as we all know those computers couldnt handle it and crashed so my save got corrupted and you should just go on to the next guy and pick up were you left off, sorry to be "that guy"
