The ring makes no sound when it should hit the ground.

There is nothing remarkable about the floodlight itself.
There's a rock under it.

The ring sits upon the floodlight, glowing slightly brighter and violently vibrating.

People got disinterested. I didn't accommodate for the people who would leave when I started this. Then school resumed. Then I got my computer reset. Then I got distracted by the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared fandom. I intend some time or other to start a version 2, with illustrations. Schools been a pain as of late, though.
