Boxcar looks around for a way to climb down the pit safely. If not, try to collect spare clothing from everyone to tie together and make a strand we can use for rope.

Mr. Jilly grabs the hammer.
It is poorly balanced, most of the weight being in the handle.

There is no way into the pit.
Judging from the lack of response from the group, it is presumed that none of them wish to lend an article of clothing.

There are still three unchecked rooms and a metal hallway.
There also remains a clamp.

A piercing metallic screech comes from the speaker back in the wake-up room.

Shane viciously glares at the ring.
One of the eyes on the design blinks.

Shane turns and walks away away from the ring.

The room with the S above the door is empty.
The one with an N, however, has a man in it.
This man's name is unknown to Shane, but he is Mr. Kovac.

Another door is slammed open, this time, somewhat closer.

The ring sits between Shane's feet.

Wave at the man and walk through the S door. Ignore that ring.

You can prevent the ring from trying to get on your finger if you swallow it. No way it can get on your finger then!

Lukas looks around.
"Anyone want to look through these rooms with me?"

"Guys, I'll go with Lukas to search the rooms," Mr Austin says with a confident tone.

Lukas nods as the group approaches the next door.

Your group walks up to the closest room, the only other room on their side of the pit.
The door opens smoothly and you all step in.

The floodlight is in the same position as it was in the first room, immediately to the right of the door, facing the back wall.
The floor is filthy; there's rotting food all over it.
It is

In the very center is a backpack-shaped, overturned wooden crate with some leather straps on one side.
The lid is chained to the crate at the back corners.
It is open.

There is a cavity in the wall to the left that looks to contain something, but it is not shone on by the light.

There is a pile of sticks and metal fragments in the right corner.

Mr. Kovac's room is lit by a floodlight tied to the ceiling with wires.
A mess of wires hangs from where a speaker would be.
A coil of wire lies under his head.

Shane cannot walk through the door because it is still barred.
The planks are attached by nails.

The ring has moved to a position on the windowsill.

((Is Mr Kovac a player or what?))

Pull out the nails. Put them in a pocket or something for later.

Mr Austin looks at the crate and gets an idea. "Let me try and break open the crate!" He then lifts his foot up and attempts to stomp on the wooden crate with his mighty strength!

Hefting a stick to see how it would do as a weapon he states,
"These maybe useful in the future, gather them up and move them back to out room. And dont you dare do something stupid, use some of the metal fragments to cut the straps off, and see whats in that crate. We maybe able to make use of the straps and what may be contained in there."
Lukas moves to adjust the spotlight so it shines into the cavity.

((Added an evidently crucial detail to the crate. Also, Mr. Kovac is darkpaladin's character.))
