Max smashes the crate with the hammer if the other person's foot doesn't work.

Nevermind. Max instead just watches.

Not heeding Heisenkaf's advice, Mr. Austin drives his foot into the side of the open box.
It goes through the wood.

A smell of iron akin to blood pervades the room and glass shatters.
Austin's foot is covered in a warm liquid.
Then, his leg begins to tingle like needles.
Seconds later, a colorful rainbow of flame begins to spread up Austin's leg.
It is pretty, with reds and blues and greens and yellows and pinks.
Burning flesh replaces the iron smell.
The room does not get any warmer.

Shane can neither pry the nails out with his fingers nor his shiv.

The ring blinks.
Tiny vines grow out of the pupils.

Lukas watches from the distance, not moving into action while the flame burns.

((Also, what was the stick like?))

((Doolydeath is for the time being required for the next red group post.))

Blue Group:

Shane is greeted at the S door by the lead ring.

The nails are much more willing to come out.
The three planks fall to the ground.
The ring does not follow.

((That Mr Kovac is through here, isn't he?))

Walk up to the guy, tie his shoelaces together, pants him and pull his shirt over his head. Then look around.

((Minor red update because elfeater keeps pestering me about the stick.))

The stick is thin, short, and dry, not likely useful for anything except for kindling.
There are many sticks and metal shards in the pile, and the tip of something made of glass.

The cavity in the wall is still unlit because of the distraction that Mr. Austin created when he smashed the makeshift backpack and its contents.

((Resume wait for dooly.))

((Gamerlord's changed his action by PM and didn't go back and fix his post.
Ah. Then just look around.
))

The room has a non-functioning floodlight.
There are hand-sized stones all over the floor.
The ring sits on top of the floodlight.

Another door slams open.
It sounds like it's coming from the other end of the pit, the N side.
It is immediately followed by the sound of glass shattering and loud, irregular footsteps.
Soon, they fade into the distance.

Scream in agony and roll around the floor while hitting your leg.

Investigate the set-up of the stones. Is there a pattern to them?

Mr. Austin falls to the ground, screaming.

The broken box is still stuck to his foot.
It is not on fire, nor are the wet scraps of food and paper and such on the ground.

The fire leaves his lower leg, moving on to the upper.
The lower leg is not burnt, but there is no longer any blood in it.
It is mostly inside of his veins, and will continue throughout his body if the veins are not obstructed.

There are cuts on his ankle and shin, likely from the glass.

The stones are thrown about with no order to the mess.

Shane's vision blurs and he finds that the ring is sitting in the palm of his hand.

Drop the ring. Examine the floodlight.
