This entire damn thread. Oh god, that thread.

Quote from: Broose
Well, you do not seem very interesting, you said you are not physically appealing, and asking for advice like this on the internet is not very mature, so idk what you really have going for you, here.

*Choking sob*  Broose...  I miss you so much man!

I saw a backwards Broose a while ago.  Of course, that couldn't have been the real Broose!

My favorite quote of all time is unknown to me. I remember reading it once on the dev blog of some online game and never since then have I seen it. Apparently it was engraved into the wall of a monastery and was a good fifteen lines long. I'll search for it, but never before have I had luck finding it.

 In the meantime:

I have been astonished that men could die martyrs for religion. I have shuddered at it. I shudder no more. I could be martyred for my religion. Love is my religion. I could die for that.
-John Keats

Something that came to mind today that I felt was rather quote-worthy on it's own; especially when you consider how it all works out in the long run. Probably one of the most pessimistic, yet, most plausible, statements/observations to come out of me.

"Ah, Murphy's Law. The cause of many a relationship and pregnancy, divorce and abortion." --An observation of mine

This isn't meant to derail the thread at all, so don't go exploring into it. This is just a funny, yet sad, observation I made (and when you think of it, these days, I'd prefer a lifetime of solitude over a "happy" marriage any day). Sometimes, I wonder if God decides to be a dick much of the time purely out of boredom.

My favorite quote, and the one I try to live by, is also from HP Lovecraft:

Quote
All life is only a set of pictures in the brain, among which there is no difference betwixt those born of real things and those born of inward dreamings, and no cause to value the one above the other.

From "The Silver Key."

My life motto:

Quote
"If [you] will adopt and use our simplified forms... [W]e shall be rid of... pneumonia and... pterodactyl, and all those other insane words which no man... can try to spell... What is the real function of language...? Isn't it merely to convey ideas and emotions...? If we can do it with words of fonetic brevity and compactness, why keep the present cumbersome form?" -Mark Twain, to the Associated Press on the subject of spelling reform.

Gildemere: I'm staggered by the complexity of these documents, sir. I've spent many hours trying to crack the code.
Clavius: ...What didn't you understand?
Gildemere: I think I have a handle on some of it. For example, the Mile-High Jellyfish, that's the upper house of Parliament. Am I right?
Clavius: No...
Gildemere: And the Flying Saucer Men, that's the Ministry of Justice?
Clavius: No, the flying saucer men are the flying saucer men! NARZAC. Area 66. The Global Empire!... What level ARE you?
[Gildemere is speechless]
Clavius: We're men of peace, so we'll attack. Deploy the orbital jellyfish... next, the expulsion of all foreign particles...
[sits down to computer console]
Gildemere: You're mad... You're insane!
[Clavius punches him]
Clavius: Shut up, Mother!
