It's the first sector. ;) I already restarted.

Ye fuck, engi cruiser is OP. Every battle (at least up to third sector) is won by jamming weapons and just turning on the drones.

Edit: three-shot blasters are also OP. Especially when paired. :(

Its really strong early on. But once they start getting better shields it gets way weaker (since you will need a secondary weapon or another drone to break through their shield).

Gah, I'm down to one crew member. And this was my best run. :(

How do I unlock other ships, apart from the beat-the-final-boss one?

Nah, they got the 'nix version for sale on their website, and I guess they email it to you. Well, a link to it, I assume.

My eyes skipped right over it the first time. Damn trained ad-blindness.

Edit: I can't find any new weapons anywhere with the Engi cruiser. As soon as enemies routinely start employing third level shields, I become completely fucked with the starting loadout. :(

Yeah, Engi's real tough. I think the only way to make it is drone recovery arm + tons of drones. And they need to be right drones too... it's tough!

Also, the final version has tons more systems! I find myself going round 'n round 'n round, something I couldn't do before! Cool!

If you buy on their site you go through Humble, so it's part of your Humble listing and has the three OS's. The Steam key also worked ahead of schedule, not that that matters now. So, buy from the FTL website and you get Steam and DRM free versions for Mac/Win/Linux. Sounds like the best option. GOG bonus stuff seemed worthless.

I'm bad at this. Even on easy. I managed to unlock the Engi ship on my first game, but haven't done anything of note since.

With the first ship that's 3 humans and one each of the 5 other races. Oh how quickly they all die.
