Hi again, this is another digital painting but it's an environment landscape:

Mountainhome

Half process:

Initial thumbnail:

At first I was meaning to create 'back to mountain home thing, with blue and cool feel, initial thumbnail" but ended up changing the idea into 'leaving the mountainhome for adventure at sunset' ship sails outwards with flags waving to the right side. If I stick to the initial thumbnail plan it'll probably look better, hmmm.. Not sure, but let me know what do you guys think? Advice/critique is always needed! Thanks for viewing my work and I hope you enjoy it.

Looks good, but I kinda like the blue tones of the halfway version better.

Agreed on this one. It almost gives it a dark-souls-y feel!

Yeah that's what I thought!
I decided to add more love into it and decided that the mountainhome needs a bit of candy. I think this gives more story to it as well as balance the color.

What do you guys think this time?

If it was a photograph, I'd call it overexposed. The waterfall in the left corner is very bright - it looks almost like you made a mistake of some kind. The white outlines on the city look like somehow like a rendering error, which is obviously not great and pulls the eye off what it's meant to be looking at. The ships have no shadows, so they look like they're on top of the water, not in it.

The main issue is that you've tried to make the details too sharp, in my opinion. It looks like a picture that's been sharpened too much. The halfway draft is actually overall my favourite one, because the softer lines look more realistic.

Yeah now that you mention it, maybe I could make it softer for a more realistic look. And it's not a waterfall was supposed to be massive adamantium vein in the mountain.

Combine the softer lines/mistiness with the blue/purpleness and you'll have something pretty amazing.

Thank you all for your comments/critiques/advices!
Just retouched the painting to look more soft and easier to the eyes.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

^They're all pretty damn good, but that most recent one is by far the best. Lovin' it :D

Anyone of the equivalent to the royal bloodline in a nomadic group would have a sun tattooed on their hand, or a scrotum on their forehead (it's a little-known fact that fraternities are based off of long-forgotten tribes).
