I tried drawing a random shape and then turning it into something. I think I failed the exercise, but I find it funny so I'll post it.

Here's a tileset for a Space Funeral fangame I'm making and am totally not advertising because no one visits the Creative Projects subforum:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The water and player aren't mine.

EDIT: oh god i forgot this was in the Creative Projects subforum

My point still stands, people visit this thread but not the subforum itself.

Here's a tileset I made for a game I was working on in college, which unfortunately got canned:

Eh, hard black outlines don't look too good on floor tiles. It's alright on the buildings, though.  The floor tiles also kinda kill the perspective it looks like you're going for. (2.5d, like Pokemon, right?) Well, the sidewalk bit anyway. The character is pretty cool and I like the detail on the buildings! I don't see the water, though. Is it the green stuff at the bottom? If it is, then it doesn't convey it's water too well.

Ooh, I like that. The only thing I can see wrong is the really straight lines that hurt the look that's it's connecting together.

Good enough, eh? Anyone who can tell me how to resize images would be nice, save the others from having it be so big.

Edit: Was going for an angel-esque thing, but I got lazy once again.

You can add the height and width modifiers this way:

Haven't drawn in a while. Sketched an animoo girl from an animoo I've been watching.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Lines aren't as clean as I'd like, and colors could be more defined and the whole thing could be better but eh. It's a sketch. I was doing it for fun. Who cares how photographically accurate it is to the reference? Besides me. I care.

Well, when I say water I really mean green sludge.

I'm not exactly sure how else I would convey a sidewalk other than with hard black outlines in RPG Maker 2003, though. The resolution (16x16) doesn't really allow for a huge amount of detail for someone who isn't experienced at spritemaking like me.

When making grid-based tiles, only put the lines on the right and bottom side(or left and top if you're weird). It would make the black outlines a lot softer, I'd think.
As for your spoiler, yes, I do have a bit of experience with sprites.

Shoot me a pm! ...also are you asking for sprites or advice? I'd be happy to give either

I made a .gif of a running stickman. I have practically no experience animating, so any advice would be appreciated.

It sort of looks like he's walking on the moon, imo. it seems a bit too slow and him going up a little looks weird I think.
Sorry if this is terrible advice, but I'm no artist, just saying what I think looks weird about it in an attempt to be helpful. :P

Welp, I've finally figured out a good map making method for roll20 maps!

Cur me running a payday inspired 5e game.

Windows and doors to be added later in the client itself cause they'll inevitably be broken.

Stickmen are a bit weird, as you can't easily see which leg/arm is their left or right.
The big issue I see is he looks like he's taking single long steps while always starting with the same leg.
Here's a walk cycle you can use as reference.
