Why are there three numbers?

There are multiple joint ventures going on simutaneously. Not everyone could keep up with the 10 000 fee, so I tiered it. And no, I do not want a single pool with different participation, that'd cut into the majority holders' profits.

Also, to facilitate your life, make it so that 3d100 boosters canno be pooled, they should apply individually according to each individual's choice.

1. I don't understand what you mean by the dice pooling :/

2. The leftover research points are divided by the funds rate anyways

3. The benefits cannot be tiered

1. I don't understand what you mean by the dice pooling :/

2. The leftover research points are divided by the funds rate anyways

3. The benefits cannot be tiered

... Example time:

A invest 1000, B invests 2000, C invests 3000.

Just 5000 were used up in the research. Even if the leftover is distributed by fundsrate, A still freeloaded for part of the research in and of itself.

As for dice pooling, that'd be the equivalent of being able to sum the 3d100s in a joint research and stacking them. Hence, if A, B  and C joint ventured, each would wind up with 9d100. I am against that simply because, should one decide to have multiple researches going on at once distributing the dices would become overly complicated.

Expanding on tiering, well, it is simply another way of saying that I am running different joint research groups at once as I deemed fit.

Azthor: $44600
Dwarf: $27000
Kisame: $44600
Elf: $42220
Cript: $44600

If you assume these values, all you need to do is to threat each of them as individual investments, it simplifies the  math a fair bit.

Only the TOPIC they're researching would get the dice. And I'd assume that you can only have three topics researching at once at maximum anyway...

Yes. In other words, gold can be used in joint researches, whereas the dices cannot. That is but a suggestion, of course.

You could also think C did most and A was the free loader.

If 6 was invested and 1 was left, A gets .16 B gets .32 C gets .48 roughly. Meaning A spent .84 B spent 1.68 C spent 2.52.

Therefore, A is the real freeloader.

Mutual research is best when all participants are equally committed. This at least supports your tiering idea.

By the dice, mutual resource have their own single dice.
Finally, why do each of you have some 40000 when your initial funds were 16000? :/ I'm very confused.

Alright. I actually confused myself and placed the wrong letter during the example, I thought I had listed them in decrescent order, but it was crescent. So, yes, A is the freeloader and was meant to be so all along. As for the massive 40 000s value, it is the distributed pool.

Azthor: 10 000
Elf: 9200
Adwarf: 5 600
Cript: 10 000
Kisame: 10 000

Sum them up and you have 44 200. Those who participated in all tiers get the full value, hence the 40s.

It is the same as if I had been given 34 200 gold by the totality of them, added 10 000 myself, researched Education, then shared my tech levels with them according to their participation.

That is the problem. You can't distribute tech levels. Its either all or nothing.

... I do not get your point. If the individual investments do not stack, what is the point of a research agreement? If we put together 20 000 and that affords two upgrades, each of us gets two upgrades. In practice, that is no different than pooling one of us 20 000, researching, then sharing the tech. They are the same mechanically speaking.

They stack towards GETTING those levels. Having several economies chip into some research makes it go smoother.

That was either an utterly pointless statement or I misunderstood you. Please, clarify.

Everyone gets the full benefit of whatever you researched as a joint venture.

NINJA : My understanding was that (1) You wanted to distribute the levels of the researched technology depending on participation (2) The point of joints are that you pool money to get a tech for cheaper. Would you ride one taxi each and pay, say $15 each? Or share a taxi with your friend who is also going to the same place and pay $7.5 each? Since there are no down sides to it, you would pool.

Another benefit is that joints have their own die, meaning you can research some cladestine technology on you own without loosing a die.

I wasn't aware of the individual dice, please tell me more about it. As for the mechanics you described, I do believe we are acting in accordance. I just elaborated it the way I did to simplify the math, but by your example... Each tier is a taxi costng a N value, each of us give aN, with a<N. We all benefit from aN costing taxi, but we only paid aN. You could say we took three taxis. Adwarf did not pick up the second and Elf did not pick the third.
