But...we don't explicitly know the alphabet, it was summoned on a whim (or sneeze). Also, the meaning is stated but we also don't know it unless there was a nice hint that could give us a lead on it.

Also, I think we created evil.

Nice work summarizing it Phantom  :D

Act I: The Dragon Egg
Scene II

You ward the entrance to your cave with a breath of force. Another rune shines in the center of the wall. Until you tear down the wall yourself, it will provide adequate protection from both physical and spiritual enemies.

And good timing, too. On the shores of the lake stand a figure. Indistinct and blurry as it is, waves of fear emanate off of it. But the shape is different than when you first saw it; while then it was a cloud of murk, now it is humanoid.

It doesn't do anything. It just... stands there. Waiting.

You beat a hasty retreat to the safe haven that is your cave.

Stats:
Full

----------------------------------

And with that, Act I is brought to an end. Don't worry about giving defensive commands to Tal'dir, because a time-skip will occur between Act I and Act II. Also, the rune on the wall should give you an idea of what meanings you should get from the various letters that will appear.

So far I think this is going good! An update a day is a good pace, I think.

Presumably come from the sanskrit "Asura", and this is reeeeaaaaly bad omen for us because the "asura path" is one of the most badass karma: the DESTROY EVERYTHING way of lifeS.
Yeah, we just created a DARK DEMIGOD OF MULTIVERSAL DESTRUCTION just by sneezing.

also nice underwater scenery.

Wow, you put more thought into that on symbol than I did. While I didn't know about the "asura path" bit, you managed to come to a good conclusion.

And thank you! I was rather happy with the way the underwater shots turned out.

>Try to remember if we have any relations, like our mother/father dragon

Also, very nice underwater scene!

Well, you did just come out of an egg, so you don't really know your parents.

And thank you! I was rather happy with the way the underwater shots turned out.

>We notice that humming adorably in A-flat causes fruit flies to spin in a circle.

Wait, what?

Surely summoning the rest of the alphabet is a good idea.

That depends on your definition of 'good idea', I suppose...

Also, I think we created evil.

Very astute of you. What tipped you off? :P

Ahh beings with four appendages! Like us!!

Wait, it is scared of us? What is that long thing it holds in the right arm?

((So when Act II comes about, we will have grown I guess? Beautiful way of making a story, but I guess its just my newness to all this saying that. Good work thought team! Oh, and Merry Christmas to all!))

Allright new rune="o" "ōpila" "inherited land"
Possibly meaning we have claimed this land (cave) as our own, at least for the time being.  Either that or we have discovered a cave full of lightsaber crystals
Other than that I got nothin'.

It seemed like it was worth a shot since some dragons have genetic/PSYCHIC-HIVE-MIND REPOSITORY OF ALL DRAGON KNOWLEDGE memory.

And when we hum in B they spin in the other direction  :D

Phantom has the answer to your question about what it's holding. And yeah, Tal'dir will be a young dragon in the next act, but not a hatchling.

And merry Christmas to everyone! And to all a good.. I dunno, cinnabun? Lotsa fun? I'm not sure what to rhyme here.

Welcome to the forums by the way Phantom!

I have a suspicion about those runes and our dragon. Are we members of an elder race that somehow abandoned us in an attack? Was that thing human as it may have
horns

Interesting plot...

Anyway here's to becoming a young dragon!

>Fly across the land, scouting your local vicinity.

I wonder if it will be more adorable?  ;D

Also, start hoarding treasures/gems for your lair. You're a dragon, after all.

the rune is "othalan" and mean property, domain. yes, basically it says "home, sweet home, private property of Cutedragonchild, do not enter unless you want to die horribily"

I'm currently watching the meaning of every single rune of futhark, and I already found some interesting one. Hagalaz, Îsaz and Ûruz, meaning respectively hail, ice and water. nice beginning, isn't it? I'll tell you if I find the "fus ro dah" runes. :P

EDIT: didn't found it, but I think I have an approximation of the Firebreath Shout from Skyrim.
In skyrim it's YOL TOR KREIN "fire inferno sun". I found the runes for sun and burning: Sôwilô and Kaunan.

EDIT EDIT: FUS RO DAH is written ᚨᚴᛋ ᚱᛜ ᚦᚣᚻ.  YOL TOR KREIN is ᛘᛜᚳ ᚾᛜᚱ ᛕᚱᛊᛁᚺ

It occurs to me that our baby dragon, who has been hatched for less than an in-universe day, is already (arguably, if you count sapient, self-sustaining constructs) already a parent.

Act II: The Dragon Flight
Scene I

Nearly a year has passed. You've grown considerably, and your old home seems smaller every day. Adventure tugs at your soul, and you must heed it's call. The Shadow has long stopped appearing; in fact, you've only seen it two other times after that first sighting by your cave. Each time it was in greater focus, which worried you, but you no longer fear it. Your ever-present wall has provided protection, but you've been forced to modify the opening to accommodate your girth.

Until recently, flight has eluded you; a mere week ago you first reached the skies. Through that time, you have seen much of the surroundings away from the lake that you were once restricted to. Settlements lie to the north-east, south-east, and south-west of your current location at your cave. Forests and mountains are to your north, while hills and deserts are to your south.

Things to Decide:
Which direction do you fly in?

--------------------------------------

Here it is: the first update of Act II! Note that fancy-schmancy gradient map on the map map. First time I've successfully messed around with that.

As for Tal'dir's actions, you're moving, as you can probably tell. Where you go too is up to all of you!

Also, I'm trying to add more details (shadows, other features, etc.) to my art, and if anyone has suggestions for improvements, I'd love to hear them! Except for the cave background. I was lazy, so I just copied and pasted from the previous update.

Here's a few holiday spirits for you  ;D
