I sorta hesitate to burn resources up until we're sure that we can replace them... The current rate of logging is going to deforest the region fairly quickly, and we might need it for something else. It will work as a stopgap measure, but we shouldn't rely on it.

Yup and that's why we need to buy the battery blueprint. For now  I propose that we order the clones to burn 1 unit of wood at midnight, which should get us through the night with 0.5 power to spare.

Theres a large wooded are to the west of us, and those mushrooms grow crazy quick, we could probably just plant a few hundred in the surrounding hills.

WE MUST MARKET THE PINK THING AS A PET! Make it fluffy and cuddly, and sell it for moolah to kids. Then activate their hidden loyalty mechanism and take over the galaxy.

Agree with making a pet out of the pink thing. The rest not so much.

We should ask if Red tape does more advanced module-like installations or just the raw architecture that we need to furnish ourselves

Oops, just relised that because the manufaturing module isn't in use you only have -0.4 power per turn. So looks like you won't have to burn anything tonight.

I have some time tonight so i'll do an update if i remember.

Turn 57
Colony:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You have finished the 'Minnion' research! (+35xp for finishing the research)

Of course there may still be a few kinks but you should be able to work those out once you see them in action.

>Contact Red Tape with the dimensions of our perimeter, and inquire as to the cost of a reinforced concrete wall 4 meters high and 2 meters thick, leaving an empty space at the gate, with two ramps on the inside, one each on the east and west sides, to reach the top, with a raised lip about 1 meter above the walkway.
Red tape sends you a quote for your proposed wall, 2500 yollars for the wall. It will take one and a half days to build but it will protect you from almost all types of alien. Granted they aren't like those acid-spitting flying demon-men, unless those were from a movie, you never can never tell the difference between movies and historical documentaries these days.

Red tape also say that they do not possess any module-like installations but they have a shipment coming from Alphagon III in three days that will contain all the required parts.

You tell the basic clone to smelt the ore. Since there isn't any additives to add it's a job that thon can handle.

And then you head to bed after giving your clones the usual 'wake me up if s**t hits the fan' talk.

You currently have 85 yollars

8 turns until day.

((This thread contains stacks of useful knowledge. I love it.))

Our colony looks great.

If day and nothing hits that fan, begin creating concrete powder.

Maybe make a small channel to the nearby river for constant watering.

Harvest those Sprouts from the Agriculture module.

Contact Gregs Teeth and Claws about our pink pet, settle in on a bargain maybe?

Future suggestion: Buy some maps from Kilo-Nile.

*Examines local aliens we've met earlier*

Quote from: The Hippocampus

Somewhere in the Pre-frontal Lobe of our brain, we remember some sketchy details.

Lobster Wolves (Locusta Lupus), both variants - Grey quadrupedal land creatures, not immune to concentrated photon beams as proven by our experiment along with unpaid interns last night. Safely tagged as an [OMNIVORE]. The Greater variant has pincers, watch out spears!

Experiment: Successful. Lasers prove effective at harnessing the raw protein and nutrients.

Bantha Cows (Unnamed Scientific)- Bigger than Lobster Wolves, these large, brown quadrupeds are assumed to be herbivorous in nature. Our far-sight has spotted some get surrounded and massacred in our early days. Down from our overlook.

No known analysis performed.

[Unnamed] Reddish Bird Creatures - Sighted in our early days in exile, these creatures echo their cries in the air, not nocturnal hopefully.

No known analysis and profitable contact performed.

[Unnamed] Slug-like Blue Aquatic - Tagged as [HERBIVORE], these strange creatures inhabit our local river! Apparently, they need to be hydrated to survive. Edible, and has natural camouflage.

No known profitable contact performed.

[Unnamed] Pink Creature - Tag [PET] is awaiting confirmation by the Cerebrum. Confirmed tag [HERBIVORE], very questionable survival attitude as it is pink. Perhaps a warning or something?

...

Conclusion?

Added action(?): Contact SafeHaven for mutual relationship of trade and protection? In the day, of course.

Hmm, we should ask Red Tape for the price of an underground water pipe with pumping and filtering from the river.

Another alternate gender-neutral term is Xi.

This. This is a great idea.

When we wake, we should toss the pink thing in the cloner/analyzer and sell the genetic information to GT&C.], if we haven't already.

After we determine possible toxicity, we can market the squidgy little things as pets.
