Ok I looked in my raws and it says just "Strawberry."  I'm not sure where the "Wild" part went - I do have a graphics pack installed but I don't think I touched the raws.  I'm probably wrong about that and I'm just horribly confused.  I'm 99% sure it said "Wild Strawberries" during this particular fort, but I'm getting old and my mind is starting to go...

Mystery solved?

Ok, so you are using a modded world.  They are 'wild strawberries' in the vanilla download.  Are you sure this game ever had 'wild' strawberries in it?  It's possible you're mis-remembering seeing them in another fortress in an unmodded world instead.

I'm using the Phoebus version so that could have something to do with it.

I'm probably remembering them saying "Wild" from a different fort.  Although this is one of the longest-lived forts I've done for a long time.

Still, it'd be neat if [DOMESTICATE] were a raw tag.

I've got a backup of the vanilla raws here, identical to what Loud Whispers posted.

Besides, wild strawberries (here in the Rocky Mountains.) taste way better than domestic strawberries. Sweeter, juicier with a stronger flavor, and they're probably growing in your back yard whether you like it or not.

I already checked genesis mod's plant raws. The strawberry entry's ID is just 'strawberry' rather than 'BERRIES_STRAW_WILD,' and their in-game name is also 'strawberry'
I'm downloading phoebus' graphics pack (pre-installed) right now, just to see what raws it includes.

Confirmed. Phoebus graphics pack's strawberry entry was changed to 'strawberry' rather than 'wild strawberry,' and is exactly what you posted, Lemunde.

What sick man would have such a vendetta against wild strawberries!?

Before I got to Eric's last post I started downloading the vanilla version to verify.  I concur that it appears to be something changed in the raws included with the Phoebus pack (and possibly others).

Strawberries grow best in slightly acidic soil. Since many commercially grown strawberries are grown in stacks of hydroponic styrafoam "buckets" they lack a great deal of the flavor that strawberries grown in other ways can contain.

A good way to grow excellent strawberries it to fertilize them with more (rabbit poop + rotting straw is what we use) fertilizer than you would (some) other plants, such as corn.
