Use the cargoship, our ship and the scout drone to triangulate it. Also, get everyone out of the cargoship, it's unshielded.

Check Space-Craigslist or wherever we posted our couch for some lounge or living room furniture and some sort of entertainment system.

That could do wonders for crew morale.

Not really nessicary since the Firestar has a number of recievers about it's hull for that very purpose and can triangulate the position of signal by itself.

Well this system is the back end of beyond and their isn't much in the way of furniture for sale.
But there is a wall sized screen you can stream video files from the star system's network to.
There are couple of mismatched second hand arm chairs and couches for sale as well.
You can buy them and pick them up next time your at the station.
Total cost: 100 credits.

They're happy now.
Yeah but it's only been a few days since you got the Firestar, wait untill your in space for a while and the crew's morale will detoriate.

You order your crew back to the Firestar and head for the source of the signal.
It's a powered down shuttle with a gattling turret and missile tube as armaments.

IIRC, triangulation width of only one ship would be pretty hard to calculate :P

Of course, since the other ship is close...

Does powered down mean the weapons are off?

Depends on the width of the ship and besides thats what the onboard super computers are for.

Technicaly yes, but they're ballistic weapons so there is very little time between powering up and firing.

More like the accuracy of the radio telescopes..but this conversation isn't that useful :P

Anyone up for readying weapons and rushing in?

Let's send them a hail from just inside Interceptor range. Let them know that we want to talk and if they try anything funny we'll blow them out of space.

I agree then.

If the ship is powered down, does it mean that it can't receive communication?

It received your virus so some basic systems must be functioning.

You hail the ship.
No response.
You hail them again and again getting no response each time.
Closer inspection of the sensor readouts states that life support is one of the systems aboard that's powered down.

Cautiously move toward the ship. If it doesn't attack at any point, attempt to board it.

It may be trapped.. Use remote control of our drone to investigate it. I'm sure the drone has a camera and some kind of appendage to get inside?

The drone doesn't have an appendage but you send it over to invesitgate anyway.
The shuttle doesn't respond to it's pressence in any way and the outer airlocks have been sealed meaning you'll need tools to get them open.
It's an old ship but it's not drifting like everything else in the scrapyard which means some one put it here.

Complete scan, launch a thether anchor.
Can we safely use our point defense guns to laser one of the airlocks open.(Not like natural 20, ship gone)
Anyway equip crew with advanced tools and smoke grenades, but let them disable/dismantle the turrets before going in.
