It looks like a pizza.

In comparison, in your avatar it does look like a cookie.

Must be the BG, which is too close to the Macookie's fur in colour imo.

Oh background... crap. I think that puts me at 17 colors now that I think about it. I'll poke at it a bit.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

I should probably write a guide on how to make a sprite without giving other people headaches when they try to work with it.


Cut the sprite down to 14 colours inc. background. Will push once I got the palette.

What was wrong with how I did that sprite? I ran through the indexing stuff myself and didn't see any problems. It would be nice to know before I make any more.

Nothing, 's just that I have to go through the effort of extracting the palette myself (and in so many other cases, have to index the sprites in the first place), that it'd be nice if people did it straight away. Not to mention those cases where front- and backsprites didn't have matching palettes *coughMagaphantcough*

What do you mean "extract the palette"? What do you use it for? Doesn't unlz export the palette automatically when you use it to write the mon to the ROM?

Edit: The main reason I'm asking is because (as far as I know) Shush and Espier's sprites' palettes are still messed up and it sounds like you might be doing something different from what I did to add them to the ROM.

I have no clue about how unLZ works, but the ROM stores normal and shiny palettes separately.

Indexed the Asmutsnon sprites, renamed the backsprite (because the only thing that sucks more than my drawing is empty spaces in file names) and made a randomly generated shiny palette for it.

Gotta go soon, but real quick: Skelk's good as far as I can tell, Magman and Hieman need low level moves for breeding but I like their movesets (maybe a little more low-level ice for Hieman), cave swallow mons are good. Present's a little odd, but I'm not one to judge. :P Also, what do you mean by "learn" for Wing Attack?

"Learn" I assumed, was how we treated egg moves. So, I threw Wing Attack in as one.

Yeah, wondering if there is any comment on Hieman's sprite. I want general opinion on it right now, though I can make only very little changes.
