I keep forgetting to show up here, but I recall that you folks wanted some music composed. What kind? (Gym battle, bike route, menu screen, etc.) Any preferred instruments?

Aye, until we have a base to work off, there's not much we can do. So let's work on the base.

Barbarossa, ExKirby's done a cave theme (remix/master of DF theme), an elite four theme, and another one which I forgot.

Perhaps a trainer/gym/whatever battle.

A town/route theme perhaps.

Y'know. Overworld stuff.

It's up to you, really. Besides one of the cave themes, and the Dorfy Four theme, they're all open.
That means:

Intro (Oak/Tarn explaining stuff, naming time)
starter village theme
ExKirby's cave theme will do for route one... the DF remix.
Wild Bayomon Battle (I guess we could make it sound like a pokemon battle, but more DORFY with more guitar and synth).

If anyone can get me the required OCX file, or they have Windows XP, we can start inserting music.

I was wondering, if there is room, if I could submit a pokemon. Though it isn't necessarily a dwarf fortress reference, it relies heavily on rule of cool.

Goleum

The Constructed Pokemon
Steel/Ghost

The design is based off of a luchador, flesh golem, pop culture's image of Frankenstein's monster, and a zombie.

If he's allowed in, I'll make the rest of the resources such as back and shiny sprites as well a all the information for it.

If not, well thanks for your time.

Where does the ghost bit come in?

Cool sprite though. I'd be okay with it.

I do like the design and the sprite (which is the hard part, in my opinion), but yeah maybe a bit more explanation of the name/concept so we know where you're coming from? I'm guessing it's reanimated golem + metal "ium" suffix for the name, was that the idea?

I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

The Ghost because it's (Sort of) undead, or made of undead like Frankenstein.
Steel because it's an artificial being and I wanted the Frankenstein reference with it not liking fire

The name was a combination of Golem and Colosseum/Mausoleum

Ah, cool. So if it ends up getting an evolution (or even in the description for this one), some sort of gladiator thing might fit.

Also, congratulations on that post taking you from a lunatic to a bay watcher! :P

Thanks, lol.
And I really don't see an evo for it, but I'm not completely shutting down the idea.

And now for further information on it, with a LARGE TEXT warning

I think we might actually consider making him Steel/Electric. Frankenstein's monster was powered by lightning after all. Fighting would work too, with that outfit.

And Undead are Dark Type in this, and we've already got too many.

It's so... complete. Even if others have problems with it I'm tempted to say it goes in just because the only thing that's missing as far as I can tell is the pokedex description.

Wow, it IS complete. o_o

How much do you thinking changing it from ghost to fighting would unbalance it?

Regardless, its a wonderful thing.

The thing I'm seeing with this is, with all the Dark types you have in here, making it fighting type would unbalance it way too far. This would give it a chance to be taken down.

And a flesh golem isn't TECHNICALLY undead

And the Lightningrod ability is what I had to make the "Powered by lightning" reference. Motor Drive would work better, but that is a Gen IV ability.

Edit: I also have designs to replace one set of the starters (most likely the Gen II starters), and need a reason to sprite them.
They're based off of Stephen King stories, so it would fit the mood and idea of the hack.

Edit 2: I think I'll set up egg moves once we have more pokemon assigned to egg groups

What do you mean by one set of the starters?
