As for depressing news, I'm sorry to announce you that the house d decided to keep the committee debating this law away from public eye.

The US government always has American's best interests at heart and are doing this to protect us from terrorists.  I mean there's no reason to worry about this unless you're an enemy of the state.  There's no way any of our incorruptible politicians would use this law to eliminate inconvenient political elements, nor would they ever make a mistake and incarcerate anyone who wasn't a terrorist.

Really folks, it's almost like you all think millions of people are going to be sent off in cattle cars to detention and forced labor camps only because they were determined "enemies of the state?"  The very notion is absurd.

Just show the nice man your papers and get on with your life.  Nothing to see here.
Meh, the only ones that need to fear the detention facilities are the Germans, the Japanese and the Communists anyway. No need to fret unless you're a communazinippontraitor.

Can't forget people of Middle Eastern origins and maybe the Chinese later on.  Ya know, just in case... lets throw in the Canucks too.

Mind you, we have a LOT of commies nowadays. Heck, look at the president!

I hope the camps have enough room for all these enemies of the state. This is a war after all, its gonna need lots of space to lock people up, especially if its indefinitely...

Don't worry about it, we'll just start giving violent criminals parole in order to make more room.

Why don't we take things a step further. I mean you've got to do something with all these enemies of the state. Why not have them work for their upkeep? We could have labour camps and have them work for the highest bidder. Cheap labour for all!

Ironic how communism's base goal is for the community to benefit from that kind of rulership.

There are no governments with the stated goal of making things worse for the common people.

"True communism", like "true capitalism", relies on everyone being perfect. Capitalism is merely slightly better able to adjust to imperfect people. It is far from perfect.

Neither are political systems, they are both economic ones. Several "communist" governments were in fact totalitarian governments, which is a recipe for disaster. Some of the most livable nations in the world are social democracies.

Of course, it's hard to get worse than a theocratic totalitarian capitalist police state. Luckilly, I know of no such nations as of yet.

That or America has the wisdom to stay away from true capitalism while USSR lasted.
Mind you, the tax code in the US became increasingly anti-citizen as the specter of the USSR vanished and with it the risk of disgruntled worked becoming agent of the enemy.

We had PATRIOT, PROTECTIP, SOPA, NDAA, now this.
Headline next week : US officials shoot passerby in a patriotic hunting event while wearing shirt that say "Fuck you".

TL;dr for the link is, US army dumped part of soldiers in landfill, possibly to hide the extend of it's losses, or because it's cheaper than to send the whole body back.

Wow, just wow.

They dumped a LARGE AMOUNT of bodies; honorable soldiers who died for their country, unceremoniously into a landfill? I'm speechless.

They could have had them mass cremated instead of dumping the remains of approximately 6,300 soldiers into a landfill.
