Aussie, get ready to update the death toll...

Journal of Oliolli
Part Six: Tragic eventfulness

12th of Galena, 103

A human caravan has arrived.

14th of Galena, 103

Trouble has found us. One of the wax workers is under attack by a badger sow and the moody blacksmith has gone insane. Neither have friends, though.

16th of Galena, 103

The wax worker survived the attack. In an effort to train the recently arrived macedwarf, Asen Keskallular, I'm sening her to kill some of these creatures.

Also, another goblin snatcher has been caught by the cages.

18th of Galena, 103

It would appear I chose the time for training againtst badgers... poorly.

5 hammergoblins and one lasher.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The lasher made short work of Asen. The blacksmith, who went stark raving mad, has also found himself near the goblins.

19th of Galena, 103

The entrance to the fort has been closed. No one should be capable of coming in now.

22nd of Galena, 103

Some of the pets had been left outside. They stand no chance.

1st of Limestone, 103

Autumn has come. So far the goblin ambush has killed two dwarves, a guineahen, a dog and a ram.

Galena was quite an eventful month, compared to some of the others. Even if the eventfulness came with the cost of dead citizens of Swordthunders.

Seriously, we need a military.

And thus, yet another savage ass kicking is dispensed by the goblins. Sorta.

The death toll was only really for the combined attempts made to secure the fort.

And welcome to what it was like managing the fort in it's heyday.  Just be thankful it wasn't a full-blown siege - those goblins and trolls hang around the front door for MONTHS.

And the Doren stops drinking, sleeping, eating and partying.

Doren was a cold-hearted killing machine who'd survived the death of her husband and children, so she well and truly didn't care much about anything anymore.  All she ever did was train in the barracks, or murder anything that wasn't even remotely dwarf-like.  I think she was an enemy of the Elf Civ too, from memory.

The countess was an enemy of the elf civ..?

I'd have liked to see a meeting between Doren and an elven diplomat :D

Thank you :D

It's only fitting that the emperor of the underworld is present on a throne of adamantine.

Damn graphic packs, robbing my burning items of their ‼‼s!

Hey Aussie, how nasty are pterosaur demons? Do they fly? It has wings. I guess it does fly.

Journal of Oliolli
Part Seven: Hell is doing well

9th of Limestone, 103

I just had a look around the underworld, and it is getting more and more obvious that the magma is draining by itself. The pump Mitch set up during his reign is already obsolete.

14th of Limestone, 103

The human merchants claim to be leaving. The door is locked.

18th of Limestone, 103

Praise Ok! The surface of the magma in hell has lowered to such levels that the famous hellberry farm is accessible!

20th of Limestone, 103

Udil Tunomzon, the wax worker who was recently attacked by angry badgers has been taken by a strange mood. Hopefully this will end better than it did with the smith...

21st of Limestone, 103

A craftsdwarf's workshop has been claimed. Also, the building of the first new generation hellvilla is to begin shortly.

22nd of Limestone, 103

The goblins are still here. They have killed a ram.

1st of Sandstone, 103

Another rather uneventful month. The situation in hell is clearly getting better, and the moody wax worker seems to be finding what he needs.

Don't all demons fly?

Not all of them. it's hard to fly without wings.
But those ones I think will flat refuse to melt no matter how much magma you dip them in.

All demons are magmaproof.  And yes, they only fly if they have wings.  Would've made walling off Hell a lot harder if demons didn't trap themselves by spawning atop walls half the time.

Hope you're building that into the side of a hill and not just anywhere on top of one.  You need the extra engravings on the walls to keep the dwarves insanely ecstatic, I found.
