Ottofar, you said your ability was to see who visited someone, not what abilities were used on someone.

...and after you think about it a bit you realize you claimed to only have a single ability remaining you can use at night.

So, Powder, what did you leave out of your claim?

I didn't use an action to find that inconsistency. There's nothing missing from my claim. You stated earlier that you knew who visited people. But now you ask if he got a message. How would you know that Jim Groovester got a message?

... Because you visited him, and you have only one night action.

If it scares people into posting, then yes.

If they end up lynched because they didn't post, oh well. Too bad for them. Maybe they should've tried posting.

...Oh.
But yeah, I messaged Jim.

I protected Jim again last night - he's basically confirmed town in my eyes. No attempts on his life were made. I'll reread the thread tomorrow and see if I can link anyone to one or more of the known scum.

Think, OB: Who did you target?

Powder Miner: Do you know if your one-shot ability counted MBP as scum? If it didn't, there's a possibility that it's LyLo.

Jim, did you receive a message?

I did. It was a poorly worded message with instructions to bold or italicize certain words depending on what happened to me during the night. I don't really know what the point was since there was already a massclaim.

I used my one-shot. I protected Urist Imiknorris, roleblocked MBP, and inspected Ottofar. After Day 4 was over I was left suspecting Ottofar and MBP most, so I used the two actions on them to see what turned up. Nothing happened to Imiknorris. It turns out that MBP's auto ability wasn't a passive redirector (or maybe it was and something else is going on), but whatever, he dead. Ottofar came up as a third party.

Ottofar because third party at this point probably means whoever's responsible for the DEFCON countdown.

Is there another mafia member around? Or are they all dead?

I understood nothing, contributed nothing, but still got to win, so good game everybody else.

I don't know, Urist I. He isn't counted as Mafia, but seeing as he is against town he may have been counted. I really have no way of knowing.

In other news, we're at Defcon 1. This might mean it's LyLo either way, guessing by the fact we're not all dead already, but it's reached the end and nothing happened. Is it a dud?

I one-shotted MBP. I didn't believe his incredibly weak claim that he somehow actioned NUKE while NUKE was dead.

Ottofar[/color].  We need to get rid of DEFCON-guy today, and you are a very likely candidate.

Powder Miner: Does your oneshot say 'scum' or 'anti-town paintings'? This is critical.

Living players that seek the demise of town.

In any event, Orangebottle, why is he a very likely candidate? Not giving reasons for votes is a very nice way to take a noose to the neck.

I inspected Ottofar. Ottofar came up as a third party.

He's third party and didn't claim it. We're now at DEFCON 1 and if we don't hit DEFCON-guy we're probably screwed. Do I need another reason in particular?

Living players that seek the demise of town.
Then, MBP probably counted. Meaning that four anti-town players are down, out of five. Hopefully.

Well, night 1 PM counted 5 scum with his one-shot. I believe he said something about it acting as a standard inspect with regard to auto-abilities, so if I'm remembering that correctly there are 0-1 scum left:

-Andrew returned town
-Dariush returned scum
-OB returned random
-MBP almost certainly counted (thank you for the info, PM)

There's also the fact that at least one person is lying about their role, as nobody's claimed Demoman. So there's one scum left. I'm also pretty sure that TF2 has a game mode where one team is guiding a rather large bomb to its destination, so Demoman is probably also DEFCON.

PM: You could ask Toaster. As for DEFCON, the scale goes to 0.

Also, I derped on the number of people still alive. If anything it's MyLo unless DEFCON is a game-ender.

Also also, I'm pretty sure Ottofar isn't the person we're looking for, as a three-man scumteam in an 18-player game seems rather unbalanced.

The correct answer is "it can't hurt." In this case, however, it's merely "yes."

What about Webadict? And ECrown? Wouldn't they both flip scum?

I don't understand your logic here. How does this make Ottofar not the person we're after?

Okay.
-The role he claimed is related to the US Government, as is DEFCON.
-He's been doing incredibly little all game.
