[Khenal]

I finally look Virtue in the eyes so she can see the truth behind my own.

"But... I did mean to hurt him, the pastern is very fragile.  And... and no matter how he feels about Stiletto's... polyamorous ways, I shouldn't have wanted to hurt him."

I return my gaze to the floor, waiting now for Virtue's passing of judgement.

[Telgin]

She looks deeply into his eyes as he tells her the truth, and feels more than a bit of apprehension well up inside of her.  He was right about one thing, he shouldn't have wanted to hurt Glaive like that... but he did, and there was only one thing to do.  She'd have never believed she'd be doing this for him, of all ponies...

"I see... Flux... there's only one thing I can do..."  She fishes a book from under her desk somewhere and sifts through it with a very unhappy expression on her face.  "...yes... by the law of the land of Coupledye, which we are held to... the sentence is two months in jail..."  She looks up to him.  "I'm sorry... but that's the law... unless Glaive himself wishes for less..."

She could override the law, and who would know, anyway?  But... Flux had done something worthy of punishment... and... she couldn't just look past that...

[Khenal]

"I know..."

After a few moments, I realize that we don't seem to actually have a jail.

"Um... do we have a jail?"

[Telgin]

She nods solemnly and stands, motioning for him to follow.  "Yes... I had a small space set aside below the keep."  She steps over to one of the doors leading out of her office and opens it.  "In case we ever needed it..."

She leads him down the stairs into the small cellar, then over to one of the four cells.  As she leads him inside, she adds, "I'll speak with Glaive when I get a chance..."

[Khenal]

I glance around the cell, seeing nothing but floor and walls.  I shuffle to a far corner and curl up there.

"If you think that'll help..."

[Telgin]

"I hope so..."  She sighs heavily as she turns to leave.  "Sorry about the accomodations... I never had the cells finished... didn't think we'd need them...  I'll see about getting you something to sleep on."

[Khenal]

I mutter a small thanks to Virtue as she leaves.  Once she's gone, I curl up tighter and quietly weep, knowing this is exactly what I deserve.

My quiet self-loathing is interrupted by Falcata.  I slowly look her way before again lowering my eyes and quietly responding.

"I got two months for battery... or maybe assault... I'm, uh, not sure on the distinction..."

[Omicega]

[Khenal]

I give a weak smile when Falcata says that Glaive would be fine with time.

"It's not your fault, Falcata.  It's mine.  I shouldn't have... have lost my temper like that.  Um, at least Glaive will get better.  I, uh... thought I might have hobbled him permanently..."

[Omicega]

[Khenal]

I sigh before answering Falcata, finally starting to understand what Glaive was thinking.

"I would never try to take you from him, Falcata.  You two just... seem right for eachother.  I guess I get why he got so mad, then.  If he thought you might start to be like how he thinks Stiletto is..."

[Omicega]

[Khenal]

I shake my head when Falcata mentions getting me out of here.

"I deserve to be in here for what I did to him.  Um... if you'd tell him... sorry for me the, uh, next time you see him, I'd... appreciate it, Falcata."
