Pray for a blessing at the altar, then head east, checking for traps at the other end.
Bulldog prays to Ptah for a blessing at the altar, [3] and is healed for
TWO HITPOINTS! Which is better than nothing, I guess.
Bulldog carefully opens the door to the East, and enters room 11! Recognizing it as the place Spartan began, their maps merge! [4] Bulldog discovers a Dart Trap in this room!
Seriously, why did it have to be a spider? Couldn't it have been a nice blob or orc or something. Keeping an eye out for further traps/hidden things, pick up the wand and then pray for a blessing at the altar. Then South!
Theodolus searches for traps, [1] and stumbles right into a Fire Trap! [1]
+2 Theodolus leaps back from the fiery blast, taking a paltry
ONE DAMAGE! That could have been much nastier...
Theodolus picks the Slender Wand off of the Altar and adds it to his inventory- then he prays for a blessing. [6] Kos is surprisingly merciful, and not only heals Theodolus's minor burns (restoring him to full health,) but also grants him the intrinsic gift of Telepathy!
Much like other forms of Telepathy, Theodolus can detect the thoughts of intelligent beings. Unlike other forms (such as through the Amulet of ESP,) Theodolus must be blind to take advantage of the gift- he can accomplish this by wearing a blindfold or by closing his eyes and
successfully clearing his mind of whimsy.
Theodolus ends up his turn by heading South- this room is empty save for the Giant Bat fluttering around. Weak and flimsy, this monster's threat is posed by its great speed. There is an exit East.
