Silly Ninja! I'm not a fortress! Unless fortresses are self aware super beings that have become the hosts for dwarves... Carving into the bowels, messing around with magma... Demons could be the immune system...

Well that makes sense. But we can always add MORE parasites to the fortress :D

parasites would add one more bit of fun. demon spawning prasites, frogotten parasites. and also it would be 1 more reason to make a well with all the nasties in the water

This would be brilliant, having a dwarf so slightly nuts (Not that they're not already) and hang about in a densely populated area until a fungi grows out of his brain.. uh.. beard and infects all near by dwarves thus wiping out your fortress in deceptive unseeable FUN unless you can spot the crazy/lazy dwarves and purify them in magma before it spreads >:)

As a parasitologist in training, I approve of this thread.

This is a Wooden Coffin. It has small holes on it. It has been burst open from the inside.


Dwarves infected with mind-affecting parasitic creatures could have interesting habbits, like:
Continuously drinking a specific item until they die from either over-drinking (huh?) or because they don't eat.
Jumping down from places.
Going down/up as much as they can. (Maybe even dig holes downwards/build stairs up)
Slapping people.
Etc.
