That depends on whether or not Girlinhat can take over the huge kingdom.
I am continuing to work on it.  It's in the plans, it's just a really difficult and long-term plan.  I'll have to see what it takes to found a new kingdom and go from there.

Since it's probably good for everyone to know, here's (some) details of both options. There might be additional weird caveats.

---> NPC kingdom takeover (it's from the announcements rather than the help pages):
Quote
Next up is a change for kingdoms controlled by an NPC. Parties of a suitable level within these kingdoms can now try to 'claim the throne'. This will initiate a 7 day period, during which other parties in the kingdom can either support or oppose the claim. If there is enough support for the claim, the nominated character will be crowned king or queen, meaning the Kingdom can now be controlled properly.
?? on suitable level and whether all votes are equal, though.

---> Create a new kingdom:
http://crownofconquest.com/help/reference/mayors and http://crownofconquest.com/help/reference/kingdoms imply that... The king-to-be needs to control four towns, which will require nine level twenty characters (because of the mayor limit). I don't know if those help pages are up to date, though.
I can nearly control three towns (and have one), dunno how far everyone else is. I don't want to be king, but if I can create -> hand off to someone I'm happy to do that once I can.

It's only as dead as you make it.  I'm enjoying myself.

StormTroopers, the most powerful party at the moment is still active. I saw them in Altarwood, they claimed it for Saberdiblalblabla.

When you say "the large kingdom" I assume you mean Staberinde. As far as I can tell the main guy behind Staberinde back when we Mountainhome'd is still playing. Considering his track record I'm not sure he'd take kindly to someone overtaking it. On a more practical level, making our own, active kingdom and being able to provide quests and such for the members will probably create much better cohesion than some vague long-term plan where we have to make do without kingdom quests until it succeeds.

Ok.

On another note, I somehow duplicated a short sword and went from two to three. ಠ_ಠ

Looking at the 'Stats' page it seems plenty of parties are still active. As far as I can tell anyone who's been inactive for a month or more don't even get a 'Last Login' entry but there's plenty of parties that had their last login during the last few days, and even more that had their last login within the last week or two. Mutant might not develop the game any more but it was solid back when we played 3 years ago and has had updates since so it's certainly quite playable.

Imma start a kingdom as soon as I'm able.  Do we know if there's any way to trade resources?  I could take donations of stone and wood and stuff to help build barracks, which would streamline my "get some high level peeps" strategy.

You can trade stuff to a specific party in a town hall.

I tried to play chess but two of my opponents were playing competitive checkers as a third person walked in with Game of Thrones in hand confused cause they thought this was the book club.

I don't know how any of the new stuff works. I suppose if nothing else is possible you can arrange to be on at the same time to buy low-priced trade offer from the Trade Hall, but I imagine there would be some sort of option for stuff like this once you're a kingdom ruler.

Where do we want the capital? I'll start a pilgrimage there as soon as I have enough turns.

Right now I think the best thing you can do is to be wherever you are, and start amassing money and levels.  Remember than exp is shared with the party, so smaller parties level faster.  At 6 you can place a garrison, who will sit and fight things that wander by, and at 10 you can construct buildings that provide benefits to your garrison.  Tower/Fort/Castle gives defense and upgrades buildings in tiers, markets give gold daily, barracks give exp daily, and wards of protection/defense/attack increase your resistance/defense/damage - all applied only to units that are garrisoned on the same tile.

You can make a lot of money finding artifacts in dungeon quests, which also show you where dungeons are so you can loot them normally.  I made a ton of money just going into good looking dungeons and slaying whatever I came across, and a lot of exp.  Get into good armor as soon as you can, once you get characters to about level 5 with plate armor and steel helm, the lowly skeletons and stuff can't hurt them, but make sure they're repaired, as less durable equipment offers less defense!

When I'm able, I'll be heading to the lower right side of the map to claim the neutral territory there.  In the meantime I'm at 9,38 because the town of Carpabbey has a god-like blacksmith, and he's helping upgrade my indestructible halberd.  As soon as I can get someone to level 15 and install them as a mayor, then we'll see about collecting into a proper drawfhood.

Oh? I guess I don't need to make a pilgrimage since I'm already in the lower area :v

I'm also playing the game, so far, I have 7 party members, 2 indestructable leather armor and 5 indestructable weapons....also happen to find a god-like blacksmith in a town with somewhat close access to a dungeon, so I think i'll be here for quite a bit.
I need to be made aware of where this is.  A god-like blacksmith?  I'll be on that all day.
*nudges a bit*
The email doesn't work as a referral :(
It's the right email... dunno why it isn't working.  I'll post it on the forums: http://forum.crownofconquest.com/index.php?topic=950.0
http://crownofconquest.com/player/register?referred_by=<UserNameHere>
It's on the Party page, Details tab.
Then there's this: http://crownofconquest.com/player/register?referred_by=Girlinhat
But on the main login page, when you make an account it asks for an email of someone who referred you, which apparently doesn't work.

Also, know what happens if you get a referral?
So...I'll just enter and give up on the referral now?
Would support Girlinhat as Queen though :o
