you mentioned the other village had barricaded its gate? id rather not assume they have wall when they just put an archway up and filled it.

if they do have 1 then the other village is clearly the more millitaristic one. we alrdy kno they are a tad savage since they ate our original diplomat

Now THAT is some recruitment.  If these kobold peasants get trained, our overlord could have quite the army.  Have half the peasants and some of your soldiers search for food, the other half of the kobold peasants must train to become footmen.  The stone wall thing, please do that.  Not sure what to do with the noble, is a ransom possible?  Corruption in this case might actually be possible.  A minor noble could benefit well from siding with a successful warlord.

Offer to take the shapeshifter as an apprentice mage if possible. If worse comes to worse, we can use him/her as a decoy, allowing the enemy to believe you've died when they take him/her out. I advise you not to inform the shapeshifter about any part of this other than the apprenticeship.

If he/she is already a magic user, ask to compare notes in the hopes of learning some shiny new spells.

As for the baron, supposing you control his mind, get him to return home, announce you as his sole heir... then have him strangle himself?
Err... not immediately after announcing you as the heir, mind.
You can have his (similarly dominated) group go with him, and attempt to keep things under control until you get there to claim your sudden inheritance.

Continue indoctrinating the hero's sister.  We should eventually train her into a killing machine and have her kill her brother.  I support the teaching of basic defense to the kobolds.  They seem like they need it.
