I already have two snatchers captured, along with several siegers. The final step before testing was making an area to actually test in. But yeah, kind of expected caverns to be a little deeper down...
Nonetheless, once i find another suitable area, and the time to actually work on it, the testing shall commence.

And you have a very good point there, the sort of feral behavior associated with goblins wouldn't quite seem to fit, considering they are a race of sentient, immortal beings, with civilizations almost as old as the world itself. If they didn't have the ability to adapt and learn at least somewhat, they would probably die out long before they could even become a threat(*cough*kobolds*cough*).

Two snatchers? Lucky ;P
Once we finish the /mixed/ goblin morals test we should be able to make a conclusion... FOR !!SCIENCE!!

Then we start talking about the elves.
Damn immortals, y u no mundane?

******Also, you leave them kobolds alone, they've had enough trouble already.
*Loud whispers cancels philosophy, making kobold bolts*

That will be my new quest to work on as I delve into the realm of DF. To learn about the moral stances of the various races in their entirety, and then create some sort of detailed virtue chart describing them all. Also, I will do my best to ensure that all savage murder on my part is only done in the name of ‼SCIENCE‼ and ☼RESEARCH☼.
Looks like I just became a philosopher king. Groovy.

Oh, and I have nothing against kobolds personally, but when your entire species dies out, because you forgot how to eat, it's safe to say that you might not be the most intelligent beings on the planet.

I recently caught some ambushers as well(R.I.P. stray baby animals). Meaning I will be able to pit snatchers vs. seigers vs. ambushers in various arrangements to see if they are all truly on the same team.

I was not able to find any place in the top layers aesthetically pleasing enough for my testing facility, so I have decided it will simply be built beneath the caverns. I'm working on several considerable projects at once, so I'm not sure how long that will take(still want to send a scouting party down there first). But it will be one of my top priorities.

I've got a small arena set up, but still need some ambush/siege gobbins :\

Apparantly my fortress isn't worth the effort :( Damn gobbies you're breaking my heart.

Get a fuckton of a valuable but relatively useless metal. thousands of silver and iron bars will do. Do with them what you will. 50 warhammers, whatever. Then get a master+ metalcrafter, set to stud with silver. He will decorate everything, bonus points for doing gold and something else shiny at the same time to layer bling, your fortress value will skyrocket once things become masterwork. Continue dwarven life, new tools, pots, barrels...armour/swords will be studded, further raising the value. Then you will get a siege with every diplomat, every caravan, endless ambushes in hiding and all of the forgotten beasts you can butcher. That is how you make the fun happen.

But...forgotten beast roasts D:

I'm not even touching the caverns, I modded antmen to lay eggs... But I messed something up and they just live birth now.

Hundreds of them. I'm not kidding, I'm scared to touch the damn things. Ironically, I unleashed them while I was making an above ground fortress. Damn open mining pits :d

!!IDEA!!

Antmen + Goblins = Freindship? So many plans, little time to do....

Mod the ant men to be parasitic and instead of using nest boxes, they lay their eggs in goblins instead.

And now we have xenomorphs.

Toady, give this guy a plump helmet biscuit and LETS MAKE THIS HAPPEN :D
Also currently the antmen I have meddled with... Like I said they live birth. They have risen above the need to use next boxes. So when I mean there are hundreds of them I literally mean hundreds of flying carapaces... FLYING ZERG RUSH KEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKE
In fact, that was so horrific, I think it should have it's own thread in the suggestions forum.

Could be a mod in it's own right. DF Defence: Attack of the Stingwing Antmen

I'd make it into a mod immediately... But as my fail to make controlled populations of them has shown, I can only make incredibly unstable voilent populations of odd creatures.

I KNOW, I'LL GIVE EM RAGE :D

Now, would you kindly follow me back on topic?

Fine. Goblins that lay eggs of love in dwarves chests that explode into ravening hugbeasts. They are disgustingly nice.
