Oh?

And it seems you need a credit card.

Which I don't have. Oh well. I mean, if someone could offer to gift the game or something.

No you don't, go to the bmtmicro one or whatever, you just put that information in that pops down, no payment information and you click secure payment or whatever and its just done.

A free rougelike? Wow, this is such a rare opportunity! A rougelike for free! Will this ever happen again? I don't know!

Maybe it's parasitic. It never loses its flavor because you eventually die from having your nutrients stolen by it.

Thanks for the heads up, this looks good. (And is clearly a cut above a lot of the free rogue-likes we see every day.)

such strange response to this information. Yup, it's a commercial roguelike that has gone F2P at least for one day. It was released early 2011 and honestly can't compete with the highly polished Dungeons of Dredmore or the attention Binding of Isaac is getting. It's a multi-platform roguelike from an indie developer. Has versions on linux, mac and pc. He just patched it on Sept 28th so it may have some stability issues.

Enjoy it or don't. Complain or don't. Either way.

Yes, a free retail game which happens to follow the rogue paradigm. Are you really complaining about this? Because you look like a giant dick right now being sarcastic about someone sharing a really good offer with us.

Eeh. It's not that good of a game. It cannot compete with major roguelikes, which are free forever and hold a lot more features/content.
But I got it for free, so there's not much reason to complain.

Cool. Not as interesting as most roguelikes, but a lot more playable. Might help to introduce someone to the genera?

It looks nice, and $5 is definitely not a bad price for a game but.. Is it enough to be worth paying for?

Does it have any interesting or depthy mechanics? From the very little I saw of it, I would guess it's a mostly standard, if not less-than, roguelike with polish.

I'm not saying it should be free, just.. A lot of similar games seem to bring more to the table are also free, so it's hard to want to pay for this. It's just kind of lacking a "hook", I guess?

Well, we have WITP that still costs 70 bucks, not to mention the old-as-balls Dominions 3 for 55 (less in some shops)..

Although i guess these two DO add something that other games do not.

It seems that the wave of freebie seekers just overloaded the servers, can't seem to get into the "store" to claim my copy.
