Let's just hope no night creatures sneak in...

And anyway, what's this with the revulsion at posing dwarf girls? Am I the only one who wants some high-quality fantasy smut that doesn't pander to the same old boring body type ideals as 95% of all cheesecakes out there?

I think we're more terrified that we can't tell if it would be a female or male dwarf. Beards and all.

Odom looked deep into her lovers eyes, her beard growing lush and puffy the longer she stared at him.  Urist stared back, his own beard fluffing, crumbling flecks of goblin blood and kitten tallow roast breaking free as the thick strands exerted their effort.  The others in the dining hall paid no mind to their naked, lustful gazes, mostly because they were also naked and staring in similar lust at the small purple mushrooms on their plate.

A wet thud sounded, and Urist's beard flushed with fatherly pride.  Odom reached to retrieve her newborn from the dining hall floor before shouting, "Everyone!  Everyone in the fort!  Stop what you're doing RIGHT NOW!  ...it's a boy."

I can see it. Nude dwarves, their stocky physiques matching their unbridled vigor and passion - wholesome or not. Extravagance and excess in soft focus from the distinct dwarven diet, a pleasing counterpoint to their mechanical abominations and a history generally written in blood, pus and vomit. Oh yes.

Caligula was NOTHING.

This really is the best derailing I've ever witnessed.

Imagine you're driving a car. Push the gas pedal to the floor. Close your eyes. Remain this way for ten minutes while turning the wheel at whim. This is Dwarf Fortress.
I don't mean to alarm you, but it appears that your Dwarves are all in fact elephants.

Set ore frequency to Everywhere if you do Create New World or set it as low as possible if you Design a  New World with Advanced Parameters.

You too can have ore out the wazoo!

In my own experience, this tends to result in a lot of variety... but not really a lot of quantity. Just my own experience however.

Mineral scarcity 100 results in as much as you'll ever need, I'm decently sure, and essentially everything (but watch for weird likes and mandates)

Gives you a lot of microcline and orthoclase, really.

Sometimes, I think I'm the only person who likes to build out of microline. Nothing says 'cower' to goblins like a gigantic neon fortress. It's like vegas fortress.

Rose gold would be better. :P

Either that or a combination of microcline, olivine and rutile. Maybe add the viciously red stone too. And orthoclase.

Whatever I do, I've got to build something.

First I have to get my farming working.  All my seeds seem to be missing, that or I forgot to embark with them.  What?
