Apparently Momuz the Malign Spears just got voted mayor.  So I need to make her an exquisite suite because that means she'll probably also become baron when the time comes.

And my jeweler just got in a fey mood and made me an opal ring called Idekar Tumam Osed.  "Brainflesh the Moral of Mazes".

"This is a pinapple opal ring.  All craftsmanship is of the highest quality.  It is encrusted with limestone and encircled with bands of green circon.  This object is adorned with hanging rings of goblin bone and menaces with spikes of limestone.  On the item is an image of Snamoz Yellprofane the goblin in pinapple opal.  On the item is an image of Brainflesh the Moral of Mazes the pinapple opal ring in green zircon."

Snamoz Yellprofane was one of gobbos that Momuz bisected with her axe.

Wow.

She did it with her iron battle axe, sure, but even still...

Ive had a miner do this to my entire military. This is also what happens when a crossbow dwarf with a sidearm is forced into melee combat.

I found candy, but it's literally inside the magma sea, surrounded both above and below by magma.  This may not be what you meant by me finding HFS, cause I won't be able to get THAT unless I almost completely drain the magma sea.
Please, bubble bath is so much more satisfying. Congratulations on finding armok's candy beard. Have fun shaving him after you wipe the sweat off his hairy ass, there's even infinite candy within the confines of his pores =D Just remember to make a two obsidian thick vein of obsidian around the hair, this will allow you to put your stair cases into the obsidian. Just have some dwarfs will the hole into the sea with water as if it were a pond...... its much safer!

You mean, don't remove the candy toy that someone put in there?  Or am I thinking of a different kind of fun?
Candy toys are always something you should stick your tongue to when you have the chance.

Hm.  I think I'll try this.

High boots are an option under armor.  Unless they're not part of your dwarf home civilization's standard gear...
If you mean what sort of armor they would be in reality - they'd be a set of articulated overlapping plates, hopefully with a foot-fitting soft liner.

I presume that Snamoz' bone might be on that ring?

And you actually get some input on who gets made baron - well your mayor does actually but you're making the input.  Assuming you've done a bit of research on your community before the opportunity arises you can already have an idea who would make a tolerable noble.

Remember to do this in as wide of an area as possible. Sometimes you need to pour from 2 z levels above for it to work perfectly.

They aren't.  I only have low boots as far as boots go.

Ive found that its actually random whether or not your dwarf civ will use high boots. Some fortresses do, some dont.

yeah, it sometimes gets irksome if you want high boots but can't make 'em 'cause your civ never learned about them. if you like, you can go into your entity default raws and change the boots (which are high boots) to [SHOES:ITEM_SHOES_BOOTS:FORCED] so future fortresses always get high boots (or anything else you set to 'forced'...i did it with masks). mind you, this can't change existing forts, since you need to gen a new world for entity file changes to take place

Hm.  Because of how the water in the caverns is compared to the magma, it might be a bit of a pain to get this magma pump stack going.  I'm probably gonna have to build a few separate reactors, and stagger the pumps a bit more to get around the water without having to deal with it.

Laziness is a good motivator.

Is it possible for me to have my dwarves make and equip two-handed swords?

As an aside, my smelter hasn't stopped producing iron bars since I hit that magnetite vein, but I'm STILL running low now that I'm producing so many screw pumps and so much armor and weapons...

I believe dwarves will use long swords like that!

I can't build long swords either...

What would I need to do to mod it so I can always access long swords?  I want to see insane dwarven barbarians with two-handed weapons!

Axes are two hand! This is why your soldier would use one at a time. Long swords must be bought/looted from humans.

Wait what?

My dwarfs dual wielded axes.  While using a buckler and shield.
