Well, that's just the thing Fool, you don't actually have the Hands-free card right now (you have pogo ride), so you certain can't do the first one, and based on Blade's reaction to what I asked about you may not be able to do the second one either.

I had no idea that it was once a battle for that. Now I really regret doing that. I really would have spent the points elsewhere had I known. Oh, and I doubt that healing 6 HP would be helpful at this moment. 3 enemies are more than likely to deal 6 HP in damage.

Rolls on enemies going clockwise:

A few things to note, since there seem to be a few misunderstandings, and I don't want you killing yourself on accident. Everyone else should pay close attention to this as well.

Burst and Blast attacks are not the same thing, especially at close range. With melee, Sinister Irony is a blast 3, meaning you have a 3x3 block on side of your character. Anything within that block is hit. As that stands, that hits 2 enemies where you are. In normal circumstances, I'd tell you to shift and then use it, to hit all three, but the prototyping they're all effected by would allow them opportunity attacks anyway.

Close Bursts are centered on the user, hitting things around them. Except for attacks with large AoEs, ranged blasts and bursts function about the same, except where they are placed determines where a Blast moves out from, and a Burst hits everything around the target square (including it, generally)

Also, a second wind restores half your total hitpoints, so it would be 16 restored, not 6. Not that it isn't entirely possible that you'd be hit for more than that in the coming round, especially without killing one.

Wait, wait, wait. Guidance beyond says "who can communicate with you", but it doesn't specify that the method of hands-free communication has to be from a sylladex hand item. Is this the kind of thing we can't roleplay out, or we can roleplay it out but have to wait until we draw a smartphone or some such through game mechanics?

If it's not dead by then, at least I can kite it around the room. 4+6(roll)+5+2+3=20.

I also didn't realize we made separate rolls for each creature Sinister Irony was used on or I would have been doing that :c

On the subject of communication: You are all on different planets, so you need some way of communicating with each other. That means something like a phone or a instant messenger program, which means a smartphone or a hands free computing device in battle, since a laptop or a drawing tablet computer would be too bulky for combat.

Of course, once we start adventuring together, we can just shout at each other.

Also, it is multiple attack rolls for group attacks, and one damage roll for the entire group, brutal affronts notwithstanding. Sorry if I was not clear on this earlier.

You attack the imp with your crossbow, prompting another opportunity attack from the imp, but it misses so everything is fine.

You blow the imp apart with your attack, which is pretty impressive since your weapon is basically a sophisticated dart thrower.

The Wolf imp continues to attack meteorsprite, but makes no headway. The meteor imp has better luck, hitting for 9 points of damage.

Meteor sprite retaliates with a sprite blast, dealing 8 damage to both imps and slaying the wolf imp.

You don't want to shoot them? Fine by me.

Your taunt is a moderate success (?), drawing only two of your enemies instead of the full 5. Drat.

Battle Order is as follows,
Imp3:
Imp2:
Imp4:
Imp1:
DB:
Ogre:

Luckily, only Imps 1 and 2 seem interested in beating the tar out of you for the moment.

They each advance on you in turn, but neither of them manage to hit you. The other imps do nothing.

Your turn.



RL: Slide one space south and keep hitting him!

6+10-1=15.

Al tries to use pester cursor against the Ogre, but misses, dealing no damage.

You take 1 damage from the Fire Aura of the Ogre, and scoot back a space. You swing at the ferocious monster, but have no success in hurting it.

Snakesprite attacks the Dummy ogre again, and finally scores a hit. The Ogre expends its take the hit ability, however, reducing the damage it takes to 5.

The dummy ogre attacks Snakesprite again, hitting for 11 damage.

The Fire Ogre steps forward and swings a huge fist at you, dealing 14 damage. You have 21 hit points remaining, half of what you started with.



Hands-free card states that I can communicate with someone as a non-provoking free action and give someone else +2 to a roll, and Guidance from beyond says that if I can communicate I can get +2 damage for the turn.

So if Freeform wants KM can have +4 to damage this turn while I have +2 damage.

Except for the minor problem that it was not the card you drew from the deck. You got your tonfa and also a pogo ride.

Also, Hamstock is dead again because when I started it I hate temporarily forgotten how much I dislike running that specific kind of suggestion game.

In a few weeks I'll forget again.

Awww, but I want it NOW!

The step might do nothing, but it's worth a shot.

EDIT: I have a plan now. This may be based on D&D, but it's way too different for me. I'll have to get used to it.

Wait... shouldn't I have a sprite? I'll take the guardian archetype if I can use it.

Okay, I do believe I made mention earlier that shifting away from imps with this particular prototyping does you NO GOOD, as they will still get an attack.

That said, perhaps a different plan would work better?

Also, as for your sprite, it will intervene in the coming round, but it won't have an archetype yet, seeing as how you've only prototyped it with a sword so far.

One more thing. What version of D&D are you used to? This is based off 4th Edition, and to me, it's pretty similar to it.

RL: Scoot southwest a few spaces and heal.

AL attacks the Ogre again, finally doing some damage! Nine points worth to be precise.

You scoot well away from the Ogre and take a moment to steady yourself for the rest of the battle, restoring your health to full.

Snakesprite attacks the dummy Ogre again, dealing 6 more points of damage.

The Dummy Ogre roars and tries to swat snakesprite away, but misses.

The Flame Ogre rounds on Alex's cursor, and swings at it, but Alex narrowly steers it out of the way.

I doubt I can shoot the imp from that position. You know, walls and all.

You move to where you were just moments ago, and call out for your sprite.

The remaining imp attacks your sprite, clawing him for 8 damage.

The sprite breaks away from fighting the imp, then flies over to you.

GAH! Why do I keep missing things!? I can memorize D&D books, but I can't memorize this and I don't know why.

Yes, normally that is the case. However, the weapon master prototyping grants all underlings the ability Harsh Tutelage, which adds 1 to their attack modifier for a basic attack and also allows it to be used as an immediate interrupt when an enemy shifts out of a space adjacent to them.

It is a powerful prototyping.

I thought that would work, and the imp would follow the sprite. Dang imps are smarter than they look.

Move 5 spaces down, 1 space to the left, then shoot at the remaining imp.

11(roll)+10=21.

The imp has higher initiative than the sprite. Otherwise, that probably would have worked.

You round the corner and fire at the last imp, pegging him for 14 points.

He steps forward to attack you in turn, but can't hit your AC.

Meteorwolfsprite swoops in and bites the imp, but only grazes it, dealing a minor 4 points of damage.

You swing your tonfa in a whirlwind attack, hitting each of your foes, dealing 11 damage to both of the imps, and 8 to the Ogre, and knocking them all away from you. You take a moment to catch your breath, bringing your hit points up to 27, then take off away from your foes.

A flying sword nearly takes your head off as you reach the edge of the floor. It sort of hovers in front of you for a moment, then fires a frickin' laser beam at the ogre, hitting it for 5 damage. Is this thing your sprite?

The monsters regroup and move towards you again, but only Imp 2 gets close enough to attack. Fortunately, he misses.

Because I rely on Cut'npasta. So, I probably missed part of the description on accident. I'll fix it in a bit.

Rather than simply jump back a space first, you brave the oppurtunity attack and prepare to shoot where you stand. The imp hits you, surprisingly enough, dealing 7 points of damage, leaving only 10 points between you and the grim spectre.

But who gives a shit about that? You shoot the imp in the face, leaving him stone dead. Hells yeah!
