ThtblovesDF, Don't most of the Civ games have slavery, at least?  I remember the slaver route in Call to Power was pretty effective early game (though it made for a tough transition later on if you weren't careful)

I think it's a good way to educate people about how wrong people were treated back then, honestly it was brutal stuff, if they didn't eat on the boat they'd break their teeth out and force feed them food, they wouldn't even let them commit suicide, hell their only hope was to die of illness or leap from the boat. If it's at least marginaly historicaly correct it could be a good way to get the word out and help people understand slavery.

But soccer moms are going to rage over it.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.  The obvious solution is to chain the baby up at the entrance as a kobold detector.

The problem with that is it goes under the assumption that the reason the game goes so far into focus with the torture, murder, and other stuff in slaves is to make a point.

I have a fear that this may be a game that is just trying to be controvercial and dark for the sake of gaining attention that way.

Honestly if this was trying to be a fun game where you try to be a great slaver while not shying away from how much of a horrible person you were... I'd be fine.

But I have a feeling that this game may be going under the same guise as many other controvercial material which is being controvercial for attention.

Probably so.

This is going to be hilarious when they actually put it on shelves. If that even happens, I have no idea how the AO rating works. May finally break the barrier which made "holocaust tycoon" so offensive - which, not to accidentally spark a flamewar here, means that people'll learn that if there's something you consider bad, don't play it, don't support it, but don't demonize people who do play it and enjoy it.
Screw that, I'm going to demonize them so hard, Satan's gonna be paying me royalties.

... This is really bad.

I just don't see the joy in enslaving africans.

What a joyless life you must lead.

Some do, fall from heaven (civ mod) had it nicly - allowing you to capture enemy workers and therelike.

So , will this game have a form of FPS minigame, where you are a African tribal leader, who goes out rapes and murders enemy villages, then takes the survivors as slaves, then run them up to the coast to sell to passing slave ships?

Also, when is the expansion coming out where you are a slave trader in Ancient Rome, dealing in mainly white slaves?

The white slave gaming market is sorta lacking attention nowadays.

If it has original gameplay, I'm all for it. If it's whack-the-mole with slaves...I'll pass.

You guys DO realize that it's bullshit... right? A hoax game, a hoax video? Right... right?

The game would NEVER get green lighted on xbox ps3 etc, plus, it's just wrong, makes me feel dirty.

Yawn, even if it weren't a hoax it's a day late and a dollar short to garner all this faux outrage.  20 years of days late - the concentration camp management games of the late 80s/early 90s were pretty much a category killer.  Although with all the movie and game remakes and reboots, maybe  Zyklon-B Tycoon can get the green light.
