Do we need a new system for my apprentice programs or do we have one that would work nicely?
Hmm.
Well, it depends on what you want your apprentices to be capable of.
If you want them to be fully capable spy specialists, then you will need to put in a three ducat's worth of work to get them. Or two ducats and a season. Or, using the embassy, one ducat and one season, but only 2 specialists can currently be recruited per year.
If you want them to be your NPC associates, but not actual specialists, you can probably get away with less. They wouldn't be capable of doing espionage missions (alone), but they might still confer some advantage to you. In this case, it would probably take a just one or two successful rolls to get one.
If you just want them to be background figures in your little guild, you wouldn't even need to roll.
So, to answer your question: If you want them to be spy specialists, you will pretty much have to spend money- although you may be able to wrangle a discount from a kind GM. For anything else, no, there is no system. There isn't a system for most things. We just wing it, and throw dice when necessary.
Oh, but once you've got the resources to start your guild proper, there's the academy system- 3 specialists go in, 1 specialist/year comes out. Although to be honest three years is... a fairly long time*.
Also! If anyone has any quick questions or just wants to talk about the game, the IRC channel that someone set up is still kicking around. There's usually someone on (Even if it takes them half an hour to notice you)
*On which note! Spring, yeah, how about that. Most of the Ligorians are stuck in the army, and won't be back till summer. Not sure how other folks are doing, but, you know, tentatively suggesting that- at some point- this season has to end.
So, do people feel like they have many major actions left to do this season? (I for one would like to get a result from the Fist's
negotiations in the docks, but other than that, I think Hugo can bide his time painting and architecturing)
